  1. Considering the missing players and depleted bench, have to take the point and keep moving towards the title. Great play by Hazard on Remy goal. I was pleased with Remy. What happened to Courtois on the City goal? Definitely will give him a pass considering the year etc, but what an odd looking play. Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
  2. Here we go! So nervous and excited! Come on you Chelsea!!
  3. Remy over Drogba is a surprise for me. But I trust in Jose. Come on you Chelsea!!
  4. Kickoff just over an hour away. Come on you Chelsea!!
  5. This is going to be epic. :dude: Countdown is on. I am nervous and excited.......now. Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
  6. Ya think, Gary? Honestly, glad to see someone in the press seeing the picture more clear.
  7. This is true, but I wish his decision making was a little better in the box. He had a couple of great opportunities to look for the assist for a better go at goal, but instead flailed away at a shot. But beyond those instances, you are spot on. He looked so much quicker today than anyone else. Now I know why he is so fast on FIFA 14 and 15. He did make a difference tonight.
  8. And what about Schurrle? Am I missing him or is he in Deutschland for a physical?
  9. Thanks for posting photo Barbara! Awesome! Really well earned victory tonight at the Bridge. And I forgot to mention earlier that the Bridge was ALIVE tonight. The sound and singing (especially Gerrard, Gerrard) was coming through loud and clear. Great job you Chelsea fans!!
  10. Who is this Torres you speak of? Saw a Chelsea #9 kit early this year with "Don't Scorres" as the name on the back.
  11. Intense! Fantastic match with an even more fantastic result! Anyone else willing to lay down some pounds or dollars to see Costa vs Skrtel in a one on one street brawl? Thought it was a hard fought victory. Both sides came out to play for 90, er, 120 minutes. Both squads were dragging late, which is understandable. The ref had a terrible match. I rarely complain or squawk about the officials, but come on! How many yellows or even straight reds did he swallow the whistle on? Thought Skrtel could have seen red in ET when he took out Costa down the side. Typically think Michael Oliver is a fair official, but tonight felt like there was a clear agenda against Jose. The handball on Henderson should have been a second yellow. Fortunately, it did not cost us. Really hard to pick a man of the match. Most everyone played so hard. Ramires did his usual "go for goal" a couple of times when he should have passed and Willian misfired a couple of passes, as did Matic, but seriously how can we complain with the effort tonight. Too bad Hazard didn't find the net as he was incredible tonight! And how about Zouma. Great play from the youngster. Courtois was incredible tonight on a couple of saves. Costa was all hustle all the time. Was hoping he could find the net just once. Any word on the injury to Fabregas or Luis, who I thought played well. Time for a good night's rest for the boys after a hard day's night. Sleep well you Blues, big one on Saturday!! Bring on Spurs too, we owe them a little something. Great night, dispatched Liverpool and headed to Wembley!! :D Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
  12. M-A-S-S-I-V-E In more ways than just one. We do not need to stroll into the Citeh match on the heels of two home losses. We need top lineup and EFFORT. I am ready to see us own someone at home again. Plus, who better to destroy than Liverpool? A solid thrashing Tuesday should get the engine fine tuned for the match of the season on Saturday. Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
  13. Unfortunately, I could not see this one live on TV. Had to follow updates on the Chelsea FC Facebook page due to family commitments. Could not wait to get home this evening to watch the match. Oh, my word! What a display. Barbara, my dear, you have summed it up quite nicely. Could not agree more so I am just going to quote you this time and say, I second your thoughts We have three interesting matches before the 31st, but with the pressure on, I think City may drop some points tomorrow vs the Gooners and then it's time for them to visit the Bridge. Cannot wait. Hope we are up 7 or 8 points after that one! Regardless of tomorrow, let's take all three on the 31st and be up a minimum of 5. Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
  14. I missed a few portions of the first half, but what I saw he was creating in the deep in the penalty area. I may have missed some defensive lapses. Still don't think he was terrible today.
  15. All alone once again............at the top of the league! The drive to the trophy has begun! Oscar played well today and had a role in each goal. Willian showed great effort throughout though not on the score sheet. Zouma held up well after a being a little timid early I thought. Costa continues to find the net. But Cech may be the MoTM as his early saves kept Newcastle off the scoreboard in the first half when we really seemed to struggle finding some chemistry. Oh, happy day, thank you Toffees and hello 2 points clear after 21 matches. Any news on the severity of Azpilicueta's injury? Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
  16. I like the lineup. Alright Chelsea, the march to the trophy starts today! City drops points and the Blues take Newcastle 4-0. Hazard, Costa, Matic and Oscar with the goals. I like the Zouma move. Cahill has struggled of late. Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
  17. Crap day turned into a surprise party thanks to Burnley. If not for the crappy turf, we might have had another one sneak in, but too many guys falling when needed. We definitely struggle breaking down teams that park the bus. We just get everyone packed in tight as possible and try to walk in the superb, world class pass for the open look after breaking down the defense. City tends to back off and allow the pitch to get spread out and then make runs from the wings to breakdown the defense, which typically works for them. We are going to see a lot more of this, just like clubs did last year as we wore into March and April. Beat Spurs Thursday and it has been a successful stretch with 10 out of 12 points over 11 days. Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
  18. Superb three points tonight! I had requested an early lead in this one in the pre-match thread, and at 2 minutes, there you are Thank you, JT! Matic turned in a brilliant performance tonight, but I had to go with JT as MotM after his hard work on the back line and first PL goal in 12 months. JT is taken for granted at times, I think, and he is the rock in our defense, and is a terrific skipper. He is playing perhaps his best in 10 years. Great job JT!! Fabregas, Hazard and Costa showed excellent effort tonight. Wish Diego could have slid one home. Top of the league on Christmas day, on Christmas day, we are top of the league!! :getin: Come you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf: Oh, and I will add, Bardsley should have been sent off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Anyone else nervous about this one? This is a very important stretch over Christmas with 3 of the next 4 matches away from the Bridge and all in the next 10 days. This one gets us started. We need 10-12 points from these four matches, with emphasis on 12. We need to come out offensive minded early and not get caught up in a 0-0 half-time type of game. It's difficult to see where City will drop points over this stretch, so let's stay on point lads! Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
  20. Big match today. With our recent history, this is not a friendly place for the Blues. Three points would be an excellent showing, no matter how we get them. As is everyone, I am curious what XI and formation Jose puts on the pitch. A goal early would be HUGE in this one. On the flip side, don't need to fall behind early. This is a great time for Hazard to "get in" a couple of times and show some of his world class scoring skill. With these early matches, three points and you can sit back and enjoy the weekend action. Lose and it's Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
  21. Always nice to thrash Spurs. Solid effort and nice goals by Hazard, Drogba and Remy. Just taking care of business tonight. Looking like a two horse race for sure from here on out. Keep the throttle up lads! Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
  22. I hate Sunderland. Sorry, what I meant to say is I really hate Sunderland. But, oh well, still undefeated and playing for lots of trophies, unlike Sunderland. I guess we cheer for the draw tomorrow or Southampton victory, no? Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
  23. Wooooooooi!! Drogba and Ramires!! 5-0 Blues. On our way to the knockout phase. Come on you Blues!!
  24. 2-0, about as stress free as you can be for the famous CFC! Very pleased with the early pace and effort from the club and fans! I could hear the Bridge across the Atlantic today. Thought Hazard, Costa, Oscar, Fabregas and Matic were in complete control from the opening kickoff. Have not seen the stats yet but possession had to be be 80%+. Keep the pressure on everyone else and let them play for 2nd - 4th! Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
  25. Is it just me or does it seem it has been 2 months since the lads last played? I am ready for football's return. I am taking Chelsea to win 3-1. I will go with Hazard, Fabregas and Ivanovic. Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
