If I was Roman at this very moment, I would just give Atletico £50m straight up and hope for the best. -

Sergio Aguero joins the other Manchester club

Decision time as Chelsea weigh-up Sergio Aguero move Ancelotti looks set to add one more player to his squad before the transfer window closes on Aug 31 and the the Athletico Madrid striker looks the most likely candidate. Aguero will face Panathinaikos in Wednesday's Champions League qualifier unless Chelsea increase their £42m bid, according to the Sun. If Aguero plays, the Argentine will be cup-tied for Chelsea's own European campaign this season. Atletico are likely to turn down the offer, which would smash the current British transfer record of £32 million paid by Manchester City for Robinho last summer, and hold out for the full £50m buy-out clause in Aguero's contract. Ancelotti has not ruled out the possibility of bringing one more new face to Stamford Bridge. "The market finishes on August 31 and if there is some possibility to improve the squad we can do it," he said. ----------------------------------- Source:- The Daily Telegraph ----------------------------------- -

I was just thinking that, it'll be like when Arsenal bought Arshavin last January. They couldn't use him for Europe because he played for Zenit in the Champions League group stages. -

Let's just hope for our sake he doesn't get used. Unfortunately, that's highly unlikely. Although, it's Atletico's choice... they can either * Decide not to play Aguero and risk being eliminated by Panathinaikos. * They play him, meaning a transfer to Chelsea afterwards would prove to be pointless since he wouldn't be allowed to play in Europe The bottom line is, we really should have bidded a long time ago, but we didn't. Atletico have the advantage because at the end of the day, Aguero is their player. The only reason I can see Atletico dropping him from that side is if Aguero publically states that he is unsettled or says he wants a move elsewhere, but I highly doubt that because Aguero has said he sees himself at Atletico for many years. I remember him saying that about a month ago. -

what's the point in that, if he plays against Panathinaikos and then joins us, we'd have a prolific marquee signing that we won't be able to use during the Champions League. I don't know, being the player that he currrently is he'll want to prove himself, particularly in Europe, and I think joining us for a substantial amount of money, having already played for Atletico in the Champions League is something not worth considering. I say, if he plays in that game, don't bother getting him -
Now that's more like it Carlo!!

Guess it's not going to happen then Well, it's either Aguero, or nothing

Sven Goran Eriksson is poised to dip into his famous contacts book to pull off a stunning signing for League Two Notts County before the end of the transfer window. Eriksson, made the club's director of football after a summer takeover, has been told money will be no object to get an A-list signing from Italy or Spain. His former Lazio player Pavel Nedved and Luis Figo are both being sounded out to see if they will make a U-turn on retirement and the clubwould also find the funds for Inter Milan's Patrick Vieira. County want to make three high-profile signings in the next fortnight and have already offered ex-England defender Sol Campbell a mouthwatering offer to reject Premier League offers to move to Meadow Lane. But the club's new Middle East owners, Munto Finance, also hope to sign a marquee name from Europe to show their ambition of reaching the Premier League is serious. County were buoyed on Friday that they were able to persuade Peter Schmeichel's son, Kasper, to join them from Manchester City on a five-year deal. -------------------------------- Link to the article --------------------------------

somehow, I don't seem to have enough confidence to believe that we can convince Atletico to sell their prize possession before Wednesday. If Kenyon can pull it off I'll eat a spider!

Yeah, and all just to get a Frenchman who's going to be 27 by the end of next season. What a waste, better to just tell Bayern to fuck off and go and get ourselves Aguero .... (or Pato, unless Milan have said he's 100% staying and that's the end of it)

Fucking terrible first half, the only thing I liked was Drogba's goal! The diamond is not working at all, Lampard is getting crowded out by Hull's 5 man midfield, and Essien is struggling on the wing!! As for Anelka, he's just ball watching, and Drogba is squandering chances as well. FFS get Aguero into this team NOOOOW!!
