  1. I remember those days. Enjoy 'em while you can, you'll miss 'em when they've gone. I know I'm not the first person to say that to you, we all hear it over and over again when we reach that stage of life, but we all end up wishing we'd heard it more, or listened more anyway, once we to get to where I am now. I agree, Marcel Lewis looks tidy, busy and efficient and a hattrick helps his profile. Tino A is an enigma rather like RLC was, and is. When he's good, Tino's unbelievable, but he has a tendency to be all or nothing; dominant or missing, with little in between. For me he's influencing games more than Ruben used to but not yet often enough for my liking. He needs to find a way to be a factor more of the time. Because of the huge potential he has, I have to list Tino in my top three prospects, but he has disappointed me more often than not this season. Tino L had another good game. I like the way he just gets the job done with no fuss. Armando Broja is a good footballer. Has everything a striker needs. A much more complete player than Tammy in my opinion. Want to see him playing men's football next season if possible. Looking forward to seeing how he handles the step up. Lewis Bate was class all night. Really good football brain and excellent technique. I think he's on a first team trajectory. Three or four years away, but headed in the right direction.
  2. Now two up through Marcel Lewis. We've been carving them open since we went ahead. Radical comment coming... but first 3-0 Tino A. Wonderful finish dancing through the defence and a calm dink over the keeper. The boys are 'playing' now and, on this evidence, they are simply too good for Wolves. Emphasised now by a fourth from a bad keeping error trying to pass across his goal. 4-0. The lads are scoring faster than I can type at the moment. Halftime approaching so hopefully I'll be able to get around to my comment. Nearly five - just wide by Tino Liveramento. HT. So the radical idea... Armando Broja to get a first team look sooner rather than later. Looks a good, good player to me. Has some physicality, some technique, some power and lot of good decision making around when to pass, shoot, hold, or run. A better prospect than Tammy in my book. A loan required asap I think. Have Vitesse got a good striker at the moment? A season in Holland, a season in Germany and then into the Blue. Easy enough to type plans on a forum, Let's see if reality can live up to it.
  3. The 18s are currently playing Wolves in the 5th round of this season's Youth Cup. Six minutes ago we conceded a penalty. Four minutes ago we went one nil up after our keeper somehow read the chip down the middle from the spot kick, stood his ground and easily caught the ball. Two minutes later a piece of magic from Tino Anjorin set up our goal for Ian Maatsen. Since then we've threatened to add two or three more.
  4. Thank you, that encourages me. The other thing which encourages me is that, even taking the injury into account, there were times when Sancho was above Pulli in the BVB pecking order and I like Pulli more than I was expecting to. On the other hand, many of Sancho's YouTubes haven't impressed me. I like some of his passing in and around the box, a big need of ours in my opinion, but his dribbling sometimes looks loose, and there are times when I feel he's trying too hard with some of the flashy tricks he tries.
  5. All six WSL games are off today. Right decision I think.
  6. People who watch him; is Sancho that good?
  7. This is a bit random in the Kennedy thread.
  8. Once again Vesper has it right. It would be more sensible to ask someone who actually knows, rather than people who have no idea about what clauses are really in contracts and why they are there. The fact that we fans don't know, proves only that we fans don't know.
  9. An update about tickets and club organised travel to Manchester for the key WSL showdown with City, and to Nottingham for the League Cup Final against Arsenal, plus a changed kick-off time for The FA Cup game at home to Liverpool Women. https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2020/02/05/conti-cup-final-ticket-news--subsidised-coaches-available-for-fi Please note, you do NOT need to be a CFC member or season ticket holder to book a seat on one of the club coaches but non members/STs will need to make a telephone booking rather than an online one. The girls are playing well, scoring lots of goals and face a month of big matches ahead. Throw in the affordable travel and, if you haven't been tempted to go to a CFCW game before, now's your chance.
  10. Highlights of yesterday's win over West Ham.
  11. Wonder how much PSG would want for Marcin Bulka? I'm not being serious. There was obviously a big falling out between Marcin and the club last season. There's no way he would come back. It would be easy to guess that the falling out was mainly Marcin's fault but who knows. It's not unlikely that the club wouldn't want him back either.
  12. I hope Ruben does not play the way he played last season because I think his output was overrated last term. Still all to prove.
  13. The women return to league action today having progressed to the 5th round of the FA Cup and the final of the League Cup in the two games since their last WSL fixture. They face West Ham at Kingsmeadow this afternoon. Kick-off is 2pm. It's shaping up to be a great title race between Arsenal, City and Chelsea. We're one point behind our two rivals, but with a game in hand over both of them. If the girls can take care of business on the next two Sundays, they will go to Manchester on 23rd February for a crunch game with City. Chelsea are running supporter's coaches to that game if anybody here want to lend their support to CFCW's title push. Book places for the trip at: https://etm.eventsair.com/chelsea-supporter-travel/. The best way to get tickets for the game is via the Chelsea Women Supporters Group on Facebook. They are buying block tickets to secure a discount for travelling Blues.
  14. I think the first assist was a run of the mill, some you hit, most you miss, corner. On the other hand, I thought the second was a beautifully struck example of seeing the picture, picking the target, and executing perfectly. A really high quality moment from Mason. I don't think we can state often enough how important Mason is to our approach out of possession. In my opinion however, his high grade in that regard gets dragged down to such an extent by his lower grade when in possession, that he simply is not earning his place in the team.
  15. Just watching the first half now. Reece showing why Tariq Lamptey had to think long and hard about his future here. I wonder if Jody spoke to Frank about the 2017/2018 youth team? Of all the good age group sides we've had in the last decade, that was the best. That team usually played with Reece in a back three and either Tariq or Dujon Sterling at wing back. It also deployed Tariq as a wide right player higher up the pitch. Oh well, water under the bridge now.
  16. Be fair, how many of us care about the other thirteen? Thank you Slippy G.
  17. You mean you'd trade that for wins over Utd, Spurs and Bayern, since we'd have to beat the German side before we could loose to Barca.
  18. Being young can't be the only qualification for getting into the team. Players have to offer more than their birth certificates. Yes, mangers can give young players development minutes. Minutes they might not fully deserve on performances alone, but that should only happen when the manager judges the player's potential is worth developing. It seems Frank believes this is the case with Mason, and fair enough, that's his decision to make. In my opinion however, Mason has to do more to earn even 'development' minutes, and a great deal more to keep his place purely on merit.
  19. I have not yet seen the first half, and may not bother now, but from what I have seen I think we are more deserving of a point today than we were at The Bridge. They played much better that day and absolutely battered us, especially second half.
  20. Mason is benefitting from the ghost of KDB, from the fear of repeating the same mistake. Thing is it is clear, and always has been, that Mason is not as talented.
  21. This game is very worrying for the Premier League. Third and fourth?
  22. Quoted the wrong post? Think you must have. Oh, I get it now.
