DOWD TO REFEREE FA CUP FINAL The FA have announced that Phil Dowd will referee our FA Cup final against Liverpool at Wembley on Saturday 5 May... Earlier in the season, Dowd was in charge for our 3-1 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford, while he also refereed the home win over Sunderland in January and the 1-0 defeat against West Bromwich Albion, the last game of Andre Villas-Boas's reign. He has already taken charge of a match between the Blues and Kenny Dalglish's men this season, our Carling Cup defeat back in November at Stamford Bridge.
