good try by Samuel (despite what the commentators said).

The gift of January 2011 just keeps on giving. Torres Time was in the burger van 1 hour ago.

Zidane should probably just be an assistant and stay as an assistant/coach and do scouting. Just the impression I have on what is suitable for his personality.

if the release clause on Varane's contract is as reported, it would be nice to see him come to Chelsea. With Zouma and Varane, along with Terry, Cahill, and Ivanovic as backup CB/RB, Azpi on RB/LB, Shaw as LB, Wallace as an option, Chelsea would be set in defense for a while. Just need the center midfielders and a top striker then.

Chelsea will do well to sell Mikel, Luiz and get rid of Torres ASAP. Already done good with the sale of Mata. Just a shame that Torres' presence seemed to precipitate the sale of a valuable player: D. Sturridge. The Blues still have plenty to spend in order to have enough quality in every position. Fullback, striker, and center midfield depth on the agenda. Get rid of the 3 players above posthaste.

Not about this season

I'm not sure if the 1st half reflects simply how tired the team is just within this week, or if there is cumulative fatigue. I do know that the season for Chelsea might have just lost momentum and there's no center forward to pull the team onward. Liverpool and ManCity look the most-likely to take the title. In Liverpool's case, the credit for their success is not just for Rodgers, Suarez and Sturridge, but Chelsea FC. Who gave them 50 million for a player with bad legs/back and sold them a high-quality player for relatively small money? Good job CFC, putting LFC back into the Champions League. Hopefully CFC find some good strikers, center midfielders and get some good options at fullback for the future. Otherwise, there will be many more days watching CFC be embarrassed by a certain club in Red. ugh. The potential future history: LFC + CFC + F.Torres = LFC's return to European power. Meaning, January 2011 may live forever. Guess we can hope not. Happy for Schuerrle and Chelsea yesterday, but I'm irked over LFC, Sturridge, Torres still.

worst rumour I've heard this week: M. Benatia to Man.Utd. Hopefully Chelsea know which center midfielders they want this summer. the summer window is going to be crazy. meanwhile, Ramires will be limping to the finish-line this season after many months of over-playing at CFC.

anyone still interested in Axel Witsel? surely he's not staying in St. Petersburg much longer. bunch of poo.
-
gundokhan and Lewa were the reason BVB went as far as they did last year. Lewa had goals, but Dortmund wouldn't have made it to the Final and faired as well as they did versus a superior Bayern side without Gundo in CM. He outshone almost every player in the CL tournament. Hard to say about the injuries now.

adidas kits suck. if I were not a Chelsea or Basel fan, I might never buy adidas. Macron make better-looking stuff but I guess they don't have the big money to pay the big clubs to wear their stuff. http://www.macron.com/shop/us/en/football/official-merchandising/realbetis.html

Might be a very good idea because there's no denying that Argentina and South America generally remain better places to find young talent. Having a legendary Argentine player on the staff helps Chelsea's future IMHO.

When Chelsea get: a top striker, two good fullbacks and more depth in center midfield, we will see what Jose Mourinho can do. Right now, I am not quick to criticize Jose because Chelsea's squad just isn't as good as it could be and definitely not a squad capable of playing incisive, quick possession football resulting in plenty of goals. Matic is a very good addition and I was happy to see Mata leave. Once Torres is out of the picture and Mikel is out & Chelsea add the players they need in fullback center midfield and striker, we can begin to make a better assessment of what is lacking from the top down. Right now, I see the Chelsea's shortcomings from the players on-hand. I think David Luiz will leave, I wish Torres could leave yesteryear (but it won't happen, I guess), and J. Mikel is just a useless player with excellent ball skills. Need more in center mid, striker, fullbacks and things can truly begin looking BLUE in Europe and domestically.
-
I'm happy to see David leave ASAP, as well as John O.M., and Fernando. Bring in more center midfield depth and experience. still running on Matic and Ramires alone. still paper-thin in center midfield. One striker, more in center mid, and the fullback, sell Luiz, sell Mikel.

Eto'o will score and Chelsea will have a clean sheet.
-
Lampard looking the weakest player for Chelsea. no surprise. if deJong does something, Frank the weakest player of 22 players.
-
well, fellas, this should be an excellent match. good luck, breathe deep.
-
the attacking line needs to be playing the ball backwards more readily in any given match. was a tough match, but West Ham knew what Chelsea would do around the box. too much dribbling, not enough penetration and quick passing.

WELCOME BACK, NEMANJA! I AM HAPPY AGAIN TO LOVE THE BLUES! Finally someone to play along with Ramires! wishing Nemanja a happy and healthy career in London! Bring on more depth, Chelsea. the 2nd blue revolution will be complete when Torres and Mikel are outta here. I feel happy still with Nemanja's return!

If this is a sign of things to come, Chelsea will definitely be a more entertaining side to watch in the future. finally feeling good to watch Chelsea. the passing a movement aren't quite there yet, but we can see it developing. Stoke didn't leave gaps at the back much, so there weren't many openings for long ground passes, I think--but I didn't watch the whole match. encouraging from Chelsea. feeling happy here as a Chelsea fan for the first time in a long while.
-
except he was never the "German Messi," and some of us never had any illusions about Marin.
-
don't understand why some dislike purchase of Salah. very good player, it seems. I still think Oscar will not remain an "attacking midfielder" forever. He seems to be gaining some weight recently which will help him in center midfield ITF.
-
37mil is good for Chelsea and I'm happy. Hopefully it's spent wisely.
-
??? Mata makes sense to me. Torres never did. The summers of 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 didn't make sense and then January of 2011 "Torres, 50mil+a very high salary" made my stomach sick for months as I already knew there was something wrong with his leg(s). Sorry, but Jose is doing things I would be doing in Football Manager if I were managing Chelsea: strong CM in, weak AM out for a good pile of cash. Things will be fine if Chelsea finish in the top 4 this year because excellent players want to play under Mourinho. they will come.

no, that was January, 3 years ago.
