  1. Doesn't detract from the fact that they have indeed played a team of importance
  2. So they didn't play the current Champions, and beat them, today then?
  3. It's only a rule in England. In other leagues though, there is usually a clause put in the contract that states the player can't play against their parent club.
  4. I don't think I'll ever get over it to be honest. The more I see him shine at Liverpool, the more it hurts. It's that bad that even when I do a FIFA career I always buy Danny back
  5. Surely that article just prove that what I said is true. Penalties are a lottery, the problem in 2008 that instead of going into the shoot out the way the would normally do, Chelsea went in with a plan, a theory. It's far easier to work out where a player is going to hit the ball if all of his team mates are using the exact same pattern. If Terry hadn't followed the plan, he may very well have scored. If the rest of the players didn't take similar penalties, then the Man Utd coach probably wouldn't have figured out the system. It was an interesting read, nonetheless, but it just proved to me that you can't go into a shootout with a plan, it has to be an on the spot split second decision, meaning that it's pretty much a lottery. The nonsense about nuclear missiles was a ridiculous comparison, I'm really not sure what that was all about
  6. Penalty shoot outs are an absolute lottery. Most keepers guess a direction and hope for the best. Some players smash it, some players place it and some players are indecisive and don't know what to do. The latter sums up Lukaku's penalty last night. He bottled it, plain and simple. Nothing to get angry over, it happens to the best players (See Roberto Baggio 1994 World Cup Final) The reaction from some folk on here is far more embarrassing than Lukaku's penalty. I said it in another thread and I'll say it in here, I've genuinely come to the conclusion that a lot of our fans (read that as posters on here) are wanton malcontents who will live out their lives in a permanent state of anger and frustration
  7. You boys need to just give it up and watch gymnastics or something. If you're getting this worked up and overreacting at one mistake when a young 20 year old had a huge amount of pressure on his shoulders I really fear that one of you may spontaneously combust at some point during the season.
  8. I really am beginning to worry here. Although I'm not sure how reliable this source is http://sulia.com/channel/chelsea-fc/f/dc3018d0-ee95-4fcd-8d50-e3e263de2a5e/?source=fb
  9. You started it. You said Drogba would beat Lukaku in a race
  10. Lest we forget good old Albert Ferrer
  11. Why do people always piss and moan, about players we sign, before they actually see them play in a Chelsea shirt. I hope Eto'o scores for fun and shuts all the doom and gloomers right up. Seriously I begin to wonder if some of the posters on here are in a constant state of depression. I've deduced that there's a large proportion of our fans who are wanton malcontents who will live out their lives in a permanent state of anger and frustration
  12. Someone on here mentioned that a few days ago
  13. Won't be long until you can quote me to make me look silly
  14. looking more and more like this is the deal that we will be doing http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/424977/Chelsea-target-Samuel-Eto-o-says-goodbye-to-Anzhi-team-mates
  15. Welcome to the club Willian. Looking forward to having 2 great players playing together on each wing
  16. Fair enough, I've picked you up wrong. FWIW I'm not saying it's a good thing that Torres is as bad as he is. He's definitely not as bad as he's being made out to be though. He has proved that he can do it on the best stage, he just can't do it any more. He's a total confidence player, and he's not had any confidence since about 2 years ago. Unfortunately for Torres, a confidence player isn't a luxury that we can afford. He'd do really well at a club like West Brom or Everton, he might even find his old form. It's a shame because at his best, at times he was unplayable, he'll never recapture that IMO though
  17. Not really. Just because we strive to have the best players at our club doesn't mean that clubs outside the top 6-7 only employ "ridiculously bad" players Benteke Michu Baines Fellaini Pienaar Begovic Cabaye Ben Arfa Remy Lovren Shaw Ramirez There is just a short list of players outside of the top 6-7 clubs that you could never class as "ridiculously bad" I'm sure there is plenty more
  18. Other than the top 6 or 7 teams, Torres would walk into any team in the Premier League. He's not Chelsea class, but to call him a Championship player is a rather large over exaggeration
  19. That's not fear then. It's being clever. It works both ways. You can't say that Jose playing defensively so that we didn't lose was a brilliant plan and then say Moyes playing defensively was through fear because they'd get destroyed.
  20. Whilst I agree, this deal looks dead in the water now, IF it does end up happening, you may end up looking very silly when this post gets dug up and quoted several times. I agree with your point, but I'd never throw my eggs into a basket and proclaim it until the window was shut........ Similarly, I guess you could quite easily quote this post and make me look silly if it doesn't happen
