I won't read the whole thread as i can't be arsed sifting through the over reactions and bullshit. What I will say is that it was a very disciplined performance from Everton and I can see them doing very well under Martinez. The fact that Baines hardly ventured forward all night shows that Everton really had to work for tonight's result and all credit to them. On another day we would have destroyed them, had we taken all of our chances. Mirallas, Barkley, Howard and Barry were immense for Everton tonight which really stopped us getting into any sort of a rhythm. The first 5 minutes or so we looked good but fell away as Everton got their act together. From then on Everton grabbed control of the game with Barry dictating the play. Eto'o looks to be a yard or so off the pace but you can see that once he gets going he will be a big player for us. Made some really intelligent runs and got into good positions. Only a fantastic challenge from Barry stopped him opening his scoring account on his debut. I though Cole really struggled tonight and Schurrle had a poor game. Other than that everyone else put in a decent shift. Our lack of a killer ball and poor finishing cost us tonight. I didn't really see anything to be concerned about. Bad day at the office combined with Everton having a fantastic game. results will come, Eto'o will score goals and we'll be challenging for the title at the business end of the season. Absolutely no need to be pushing the panic button whatsoever.

After reading the nonsense that half the folk are posting in this thread, I'm making a conscious decision to stop reading and posting in match threads while the game is still playing. Some of you people are an absolute embarrassment
-
Everton were pretty much controlling the game for the first half hour or so with Barry dictating the tempo of the game. Just when it looked like we were coming back into it and taking the game by the scruff of the neck, Everton pounced on a loose ball and scored with a well worked move. That's football for you. Eto'o looks way off the pace, but has been making some intelligent runs. Ivanovic has been our best player so far. Schurrle's miss was absolutely criminal. We're not out of this yet though

I've read that paragraph about 4 times now, and rather than understand it, I just have a sore head now
-
Well this has turned into one big wet pump

This is how I'm picturing you guys right now

Yeah, I was reading that last night. Bet he's a real hoot at parties. You'd think it was a crime to have a bit of fun and light hearted banter. I get the fact that this is predominantly a football forum, but the other areas of the forum (and if he even dared to look at other teams' forums he'd notice that its pretty much the same everywhere) have been created so that we can discuss other topics and have fun. We all share a love for Chelsea, but there are many other things that we may have in common which the pub is great for finding out about. Throw in a bit of child's play and toilet humour and, rather than lowering the tone, like granpa suggests, it just brings an element of enjoyment to the place. Simple solution is.....Don't like it? Don't fucking open it. We could do with more folk like you and I on here to be honest

I hope I'm not as uptight as that when I turn 75

Maybe it's time you did something similar. You're making a real fool of yourself by continuing with this charade. You still haven't explained what you are gibbering about. How in the hell did you come to the conclusion that I believed Mata was leaving because I posted a picture from a computer game?
-
Seriously what the fuck are you talking about you absolute belly medal? I'll write it in laymans terms for you and in a childish language that you might fucking understand. Me playing FIFA 14. Me in the January transfer window. Me open an email to find Juan Mata telling me he wants to leave. Me heartbroken as me don't to sell him. I'll shout the next bit so that it sinks in. NO I DO NOT THINK IT IS REAL. I HAVE BEEN PLAYING FIFA GAMES SINCE THE FIRST ONE WAS RELEASED IN 1994, I AM VERY WELL AWARE THAT WHAT HAPPENS IN MY GAME OF FIFA DOESN'T ACTUALLY MEAN IT IS HAPPENING IN REAL LIFE. Maybe you're the one who needs to see a shrink. Idiot
-
Why would it be an april fool? It's just a picture from FIFA 14. When I opened the email I was devastated, i don't want him to leave but I'm being forced to sell him
-
What are you havering about? What does the date have to do with anything. (Which, incidentally, is 3rd of January seeing as you're having problems with it)
-
Absolutely heartbreaking
-
If it does I'll send you 1 penny for every goal Torres scores, via PayPal
-
FIFA 14 is so unrealistic, Torres is keeping Eto'o out of my starting line up because he is scoring for fun
-
On closer inspection they've not really won the equivalent as all their top title wins are credited as FL Championship wins. Fuck Liverpool, fuck them right in the ear
-
It's only really on a technicality. Liverpool have done it as well but when they won the equivalent of the Europa League it was the UEFA Cup and obviously they've never won the Premier League in it's current guise, but are former top league winners. EDIT: Actually, scratch that, all their top division titles are credited as having won the FL Championship, so it is actually a unique set that we have

Gran's not looking too good. Took my grandad for a pint to cheer him up a bit. He's in bits

Off to Edinburgh to go and see my Gran. She doesn't have long left to live and has taken a bad fall this morning
