  1. You know that CAN'T happen though, as much as we'd like it, he's going to be a winger, simply because we have too many central midfielders.
  2. £5million! You sure it's not 5 million pennies?! That'd be a great price for him tbh.
  3. So instead of Claude, we sell Belletti/Ferreira (more like Belletti because Scolari might like Ferreira) and that'll give us 3 right backs, and Malouda can be kept instead of buying an excess amount of wingers, where I think we'd only need one atm.
  4. It could potentially be the signing that completes our squad - as every other position has great players in it. We really need a winger.
  5. Yeah, best of luck to Sidwell, I liked him at Reading but knew signing him was ultimately a step down in his career as he wouldn't get played very often, hopefully he can pick up some form at Villa and do well.
  6. Didier, on his day, is the best striker in the world, bar none. It's simple, no other player in the world has such a great combination of skill, superhuman strength and such a great shot - the only ability I feel he lacks in comparison to Ronaldo or Kaka (who others would class as the best in the world) would be pace, but he's fast enough for the position he plays. He is an ego, but Scolari's got balls. Hopefully Scolari can tame Drogba and actually make him feel wanted, it's something I think he could probably do really well. Something I feel Drogba lacked with Grant that he had with Mourinho was respect, and I'm pretty sure he respects Scolari. The price that is going around for Drogba is £24m, which I see as stupid as it's how much we bought him for, and he's improved a hell of a lot. And if Adebayor can be valued at £36m, Drogba should be somewhere in the £40m - £50m range. Lastly, as Stamford said, who would replace him? Eto'o is worse than him, Torres isn't for sale, Villa, despite a great Euros, isn't the player Drogba is (although I do think he could fit into Scolari's system) and that is it really, unless we buy Milito from relegated Zaragoza (which tbh, I really wouldn't mind at all as he's a great player) - there's simply no one good enough. I say we risk it, keep him, let Scolari work his magic, and watch us win countless trophies for the next few years with him as our main striker!
  7. Zico's now apparently in the frame to be our manager too, according to Sky Sports.
  8. Transfer prices will only go up for the big players after the Euro's, Chelsea need a manager now so they can finish the squad off now.
  9. Assuming the word is 'bollocking' - Grant would NEVER say that. He's Israeli, 'bollocking' is a colloquial English term. It's all bullshit.
  10. Unfortunately, this is just a sign that Mancini will be our manager next season. Hopefully, Clarke doesn't leave too.
  11. That's exactly what Chelsea need. Someone who will stay here for the long run. It's one of the reasons of Arsenal/United's success, their manager is given time to rebuild. Of the candidates: Mourinho - Won't come, no need to bother. Rijkaard - Drama queen, wouldn't be long term. Hiddink - Would be my number 1 choice, but he's said he's not coming. Deschamps - Possibly seeing as he played for us once, but he's inexperienced. Lippi - Too old, doesn't know English. Mancini - I wouldn't take him. He's won the Italian title in the last 3 years, first was because of the other teams being deducted points/relegated, and the other two were because there weren't any real opponents in the league. Whenever he's faced a big team in Europe he's failed. Scolari - I don't like him. Sven - Naaah. Hughes - Big time experience with Wales, Premiership experience with Blackburn, experience with Chelsea from his playing days - the PERFECT candidate. Hughes seems to be the logical choice for me. We don't need a big name, we need someone who has experience and will be willing to stay for the long-run. Hughes is that man.
  12. -SkySports Hmm, seems interesting, this is Drogba's last chance, things will finally come clear and we can see whether he is staying or not. No more secrets, this is a good decision.
  13. Ben Haim will never get £5m. Belletti was signed for under £1m, he's not gonna sell for £6m a season later when he's just got older. Makele for £10m? You're mad, no one will pay that much for someone that old. And tbh I doubt Drogba or SWP will go for that much either. Or Sheva.
  14. Keepers: Cech, Cudicini, Hilario Right Backs: Bosingwa, Ferreira, Belletti Centre Backs: Terry, Carvalho, Alex, Ivanovic, Mancienne, Ben Haim Left Backs: A.Cole, Bridge Central Midfield: Essien, Mikel, Ballack, Lampard, Maka, Sidwell Wingers: J.Cole, Kalou, Sinclair, Malouda Strikers: Drogba, Anelka, Shevchenko, Di Santo, Pizarro Keepers - Fine Right Backs - Sell Ferreira/Belletti Centre Backs - Sell Ben Haim Left Backs - Fine Central Midfield - Sell Sidwell Wingers - Buy someone, someone world class. Not just good, but someone who will compete with Ronaldo. Strikers - Sell Pizarro. Sell Drogba. Buy someone world class. That's what I see happening with the team. Well, that's what I want anyway.
  15. Skysports Good to hear - he's come out and said it in public, just the news I've been waiting for.
  16. It was a pretty bad tackle by Maka, two-footed. I'm shocked he'd do something like that.
  17. It's Manchester United - the club would be bought up within seconds of the Glazers putting it on sale, their too big a name.
  18. No one in the world can replace Carvalho, I wouldn't accept a bid of £50million for him - he's too valuable. No one can do the things he does, selling him wouldn't make sense.
  19. Joaquin is not that good at all, he had promise at Betis, but when he joined Valencia it all went down.
  20. On-pitch moment of the season Chelsea vs Liverpool - 2nd Leg CL SF. I can't pick one moment out of it, it was just all perfect; Lampard scoring after his mother's death, Lampard's performance throughout the game, Drogba's celebration and the fact that we finally beat them in the SF, great game. Off-pitch moment of the season Jose leaving/Grant arriving Player who must not be sold Out of those rumoured to leave? Lampard Greatest goal Alex vs Middlesbrough Most embarrassing moment Ballack + Drogba's breakdown for the freekick against United, was so childish and was such an important time. Thankfully we did win the match. Effect of manager's shopping Alex - Very good Belletti - I like him, obviously Avram doesn't. Anelka - I wasn't expecting much this season, hopefully he'll finally come good. The season in five words We're always gonna be there Five-point action plan for the summer 1. Sign a class winger 2. Sell dead-wood 3. Bring in a few youth players 4. Don't get bullied in transfer market 5. Stop getting injured!
  21. I stated that Sidwell, Ben Haim, Pizarro , Malouda and/or SWP and Belletti could be leaving in my post. As for Drogba, Lampard and Essien: Drogba is the only one I can see going, and even still, I don't think he will. What's with everyone thinking Lampard is gonna leave, he's said he would stay the rest of his career at Chelsea, so why does everyone think he will leave? Don't believe the papers. And Essien? This is the first I've heard of this, he's currently enjoying the best football of his career at Chelsea, why the hell would he want to leave? Would be very bizzarre.
  22. Let's look at the squad: GK: Cech/Cudicini/Hilario - Everything's fine there, no need for signings. RB: Belletti/Ferreira/Bosingwa/Ivanovic - Sell Ferreira/Belletti - otherwise we're fine. LB: Bridge/Cole - Perfect CB: Terry/Carvalho/Alex/Ivanovic/Ben Haim - Sell Ben Haim CM - Lampard/Ballack/Essien/Makelele/Mikel/Sidwell - Whether we're playing 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 - none of these players (apart from Sidwell) should have to leave, they are all too important. Makelele should be a bit-part player next season due to age (even though he is still immense) and Lampard/Ballack/Essien are all world class. No one needs to be signed, we do not need more than we have, which at the moment is 3 world class CM's, Makelele who is a class of his own and then Mikel who is just about there. Wingers - Malouda/Joe Cole/Kalou/SWP - We need a dangerous winger, Joey is the only great player there, Kalou is good, but not great. SWP and Malouda haven't reached the Chelsea standard we need. I think we need one winger and we can have Kalou as immediate back-up with SWP and Malouda covering them, although I can see one of Malouda or SWP being sold. Strikers - Drogba/Sheva/Pizarro/Anelka - We have a front line with Drogba and Anelka with Sheva as a sub - what's wrong with it? Nothing at all, don't bother changing it. Maybe sell Pizarro and promote a youth player, but this is fine. We only need one winger now that we have the right back position sorted, and he should be a right winger seeing as Joey plays on the left.
  23. 2 strikers? Only if we sell Drogba, otherwise we still have Anelka and Shevchenko, buying 2 more strikers would be stupid.
  24. Would have not have been bought last season or in January if it was a Jose signing?
