Think you misunderstood the point? If you don't count all Lukaku goals, Everton will still finish 7th. His goals contribute only 9 points for the team and hardly any winning or equalizer goals coming from him. Surely, that means something.

Think we are not in HG crisis at the moment, even after we had lost 2 players now. U21 players has filled in the quota needed last season, so does this season. We don't have squad that deep last season. Adding 2-3 more non HG players are still possible, I think, especially if player like Costa, Matic also leaving. No problem.

Yes, HG is important, but we don't need HG player in every position. Costa is leaving, the next striker we are going to sign will fill his place. So, no big problem I think. About Lukaku, yes he score 20+ goals last season, but I have read it before that if you take all his goals, Everton will still stay at 7th position. Almost all of his goals are not giving significant points for the team. So, if we sign Lukaku, you are saying that you will be satisfied if we win every game 1-0 with him scoring, kinda contradicting it.
