  1. Wow, it's been a while I didn't visit but nothing change I see, still no neutral ground in this thread . Why can't we just agree that rather being or not being good enoguh back then he just wasn't the type of player Mourinho wanted as his #10? He HIMSELF said it to the media ( link:: http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2013/9/21/4754358/mourinho-oscar-is-my-number-10) this plus the William signing pretty much closed the door to both Mata and de Bruyne. What amaze me is that Mourinho didn't foresee what his own words could do Mata and de Bruyne spirit. But anyway like I said when I last posted in this thread: If Mourinho made his choice back then, then fair enough; but to blame him/them when it's really Mourinho that sow the seeds is unfair. And if you can read further than that, he actually ( probably unintentionally ) acknowledged his mistake ( selling both of them ) by bringing in a creative player in Fabregas six months later. As for the " flat track bully " I don't know, I didn't watch many lately and even less city game so I can't say much, but from what I saw combined to the stat ( I know stat doesn't means much outside of their context ) it looks more like a finishing problem with city away than anything. I mean 30 chances created at home for 10 assists is a normal conversation rate but 18 chances created away for 0 assists is definitely abnormal. Lastly, ( reminder: I didn't watch many games lately ) I don't think de Bruyne would have changed much to the situation Chelsea is right now, don't get me wrong I'm not implying " He is not good enough to make a difference ", my point is that I fell the problem with the team right now is much deeper than just " We need more quality players ". The players are complete lost on the field and the team itself look just... well broken. First, well I really don't think Mourinho was the right coach for the crop of player the team had when he signed but more than that what I want to point is something I often see being laughed at when, I for one, believe is really important: club philosophy. Club philosophy isn't just something there so you can say " Oh look our team always play nice attacking football " or stuff like that, the real point of a club philosophy is to ease the burden on the players when the club get a new manager, oblivously there will be less of an adaptaiotn needed if you go from a manager that like possession football to another one that like possession football than if you go from possession to defensive minded. This most likely also the reason why when Mourinho leave somewhere there's a lot of work to be done, after all he's just so different than other top managers. Simply said, it's easier to learn something than to forget " that " something Now going deeper into what I wanted to say: Look at it, before Mourinho spell the players finally started to play some nice attacking football at the end of Benitez interim, then Mourinho came, broke that to rebuild from strach a more defensive minded side, which for the player means" forget everything and restart from the begining " and this time for a type of football that doesn't really suit them ( in my opinion ); And now, two and half a year later, need to forget all this again to rebuild something totally " new ". On a pitch you want the players to be able to play without having to think about what to do next but this process of changing the type of football they need to play just make this harder and harder to acheive, and they learned yesterdya is useless the tomorrow -> They're lost It's pretty much the same problem ManU has gone through but for another reason... A way too long spell from SAF, his style was so much written deep into them that to change that it require to pretty much recreate the whole team from strach. You can look at Barcelona for the other side of the coin, they do change manager but neither too often nor too late, and they stick to one style of football and the result is there for everyone to see even under a new manager the players are never really lost on the field... That's continuity. Sorry, that " lastly " ended up being like a novel.... Now, what I written is only my observation and opinion although I fell more like I wasted my time stating only the oblivious things everyone know anyway.and to be honest in the end I still hope I'm totally off the mark and the team manage to rebuild itself way fastes than what I'm expecting. PS: In no way I'm trying to bash Mourinho or anything else like that in this post, I might not like his style but he doesn't deserve all the crap against him I've read, be it on some forums or in the media; And I also feel sympathy for him, he's like a square in a era of circle... Just different from the others.
  2. Not at all. Seeing things moving is a good thing, the problem is that nowdays things tends to move the wrong way, especially when money is involved. It could end up being better but it could also end up being way worse than it was and without even us knowing it ! To put that in another context : Would you rather hear news everyday about childrens being killed or not hearing any news about it and trusting nothing is happening ? That's where the saying " Ignorance is bliss " comes from. I'm not saying you are, I'm just saying that as much as I hate corruption I would rather know there's corruption than think there's none. I won't go any further than that since it's starting to hit a way more complicated problem in the world ( including conditioning ) and not only I don't have the required level in english for that but also it's not the point of the topic. Anyway as I said in my previous post it's only an opinion.
  3. What makes me laugh the most in this story is that it's actually agencies from the most corrupted " country " in the world that are investigating it. I mean it's not like USA has legalised corruption or something after all. The timing of all those revelations is also weird. Anyway it's not like FIFA will get better just with this, wherever there's that much money/power involved there'll be stuff going on in your back what might change could be that they'll be better at hidding it that's all. >.> It's just my two cents, don't hate me too much for it.
  4. I agree. I just pointed it out since the discusion keep going on weither de Bruyne was good enough or if he was willing to fight for his place, which is a bit stupid if there was no spot to fight for in the first place. And I'm not blaming Jose for it, Oscar was the type of player he was looking for, fair enough. But blaming de Bruyne saying he was unwilling to fight for his place is harsh... And in my opinion it's no coincidence his drop in form coincide in time with that comment. ps: That comment was actually made in September.
  5. If I remember correctly Jose said early last season ( I think it was a few days before the Swindon game) that he wanted to build the team with Oscar as his main #10.
  6. I agree and it was not really pointed early season because he was doing wonder but there also was a few violent reaction in his games, what make it worst though it is players and especially Jose coming out and saying stuff like ( I don't remember the exact words used so.. ) " He isn't at fault " or " It's the way he is ". Trivializing violent conduct is never a good thing, and saying stuff like that isn't protecting him. Sound harsh but he should work with a psychologist on this ASAP although I truly believe you can't change someone with violent reaction like that.
  7. It's all about body coordination really, you'll become what you do that's it. I'm left handed yet my right hand fingers are more agile and I'm right footed.
  8. It's been brough up quite a few times already by many including me but have you ever seen a player like Hazard who not only in club but also in NT has next to zero support from the FB ? I'll repeat it once again but if people seriously expect someone to get past defenders again and again when that defender KNOWS he only had this option or back pass the ball then something is wrong with your way of thinking. When Hazard will have the same support and creativity around him than Ronaldo/Bale or Messi has, then you'll be able to compare them. On another note, once again he has proven how deadly he's on counterattack, could already have gotten 3 assist in this WC just from counter.... How many more goal scoring chance does he need to create from counterattack to consider leaving him more often higher on the pitch when not in possession ? He's presence near the midfield for a posible counterattack will always bring more to a team than his presence in defense ( minus a few exceptions ).
  9. Exaclty what most of us have been saying for a while. No support = no party. Also, he again proved how dangerous he's when staying higher on a the pitch when opponent has the ball for a possible counter... But I guess people will still want him to become a left back when opponent has possession.
  10. He just need options. When you don't have options you become predictable. If some think he can just get past players over and over again when they know his only option to create something is to do that and this on a consistent basis they're deadly wrong.
  11. I tried to stay cool but this is just too much. I might -and probably will- say too much myself and I'm doing it knowingly so I'll take any blame moderator think I deserve. I'm sorry about that in advance. So WHO the hell are YOU to judge people ? People on any forum might hide behind pseudonym but in no way does it means that they haven't done MORE for the community and the world than anyone will ever do and even less does it means they do not deserve RESPECT. Stop acting like you know anyone just because they're some " anonymous " on the web. People like you do more harm than any good they'll ever bring to Mourinho's name. As shameful as it could get from a supposed fan.
  12. Well, while it's true that Hazard isn't more efficient than him right now their situation is also very different ( I already made my point in a previous post ). Now to say Schurrle is on par with Hazard is going a bit too far, don't you think ? That's a lot of popcorn. But are you sure it'll last long enough ? It looks like the show isn't going to finish anytime soon.
  13. Faith and self belief surely is important it can help player to step up, but I really don't think it's only up to that, I don't know how you see it but for me, in term of collective play in the offensive part of the game, more often than not I'm almost under the impression the team is playing together for the first time, and that's definitely not a problem of self belief or faith. But like I said I don't think Mourinho isn't planing anything about that. Chelsea definitely has a lot of potential as a team it's just not quite working right now. A striker would most likely help, and probably bring the team to the title but I feel right now Chelsea could do a lot more than that.
  14. You guys put way too much thouths in what is being said in the media, you can say wathever you want to the press but nothing will tell you what really happen behind the scene. I guess all thoses years analyzing human psychology has proven how easily people can be manipulated >.<.
  15. After a MotM perfomance for the best possible outcome .
  16. You're totally right, I said it earlier too that his system greatly helped winning some games. But what work on stronger side might not work on weaker side. I do think it's the emphasis on the defensive part of the game that made Chelsea struggle against weaker sides this season as much as it helped winning thougher games. The lack of collective probably show a lack of training in this department, but Mourinho isn't stupid he surely know, still nothing has improved, so I think what he said at the start of the season ( that this first year he didn't aim for title ) was true and the fact Chelsea fighted for the title this season was somewhat unexpected. He might have wanted to start by strenghtening the team defense even if it meant to throw away the offensive part for now and next season starting with a good base ( defense ) and work on the offensive to push for titles. Atleast that's how I see it. As for the comparaison with Ronaldo, it has been said a lot but they're completetly different type of players and their situation is also different ( and there's he isn't even close to Ronaldo ), but if we want to talk about Ronaldo we also need to point that he has way more support the Hazard does ( and Ronaldo earned that support ). So different players and different situation make it incomparable... Edit : Sorry for the double post.
  17. Nothing surprising here but it's still laughable it as comes to the point Mourinho had to clear things up for people to understand.
  18. What I think it's that it would not be surprising if Hazard is a bit frustrated at the moment but it goes way too far in the media and even here. I keep hearing people saying : " In modern forward help defense ". Which is true and I won't argue with that but there's limit to everything, I've pointed out yesterday how the team lack collective right now and it's all the point. Try to imagine what you would feel as a forward if you were asking to work to oblivion to help the team in defensive duty but when actually doing your job as a forward you have next to no support ? It's a lack in the TEAMWORK. Chelsea right now is unbalanced and this is clearly Mourinho fault for emphasing too much on the defensive part of the game. I'm not saying he should throw away his approach but tweaking it a bit would surely help.
  19. I see, I certainly do hope to see him being given a bit more freedom next year in that case, or atleast on a few more occasion then this season. Back to Mourinho I don't get how people can even bring in the possibility of him being sacked ( or did I miss a joke ? ), his tactical approach did greatly help the team to win big games although I believe with a bit more flexlibity the title would be in his hand.
  20. About the discipline issue I don't think I heard anything being said by Wilmots, wasn't it the burger incident with Lekens ? I do remember Mourinho saying he didn't work enough at training though. As for the raising a player part I do believe there's thing you can teach even to player that could be called " genius ", eben if it's only thing you start to generally learn with experience. And for the freedom part it was a " what if ", let's say that Hzard had that tactical awareness and any others tools ( like knowing when his teamates need his help for the defensive works ) that could make someone allow him to act more freely and actually taking decision on the field. Do you think Mourinho would be the kind of coach to allow that ? As said before I do think he believe so much ( not wrongly ) in his tactics that I find it hard to believe he would give that kind of freedom to a player ( I must admit I don't watch la liga except on a few occasion so I have no idea how it was at RM ). About Hazard, yeah he's more consistent and has been generally better compared to last season, I do think his " up " are fewer this season than last year but It's not like I clearly remember every last season games so...
  21. I think this is a " whole " and again it comes down to coaching abilities, I said it in my previous post but I think we have yet to see what a real genius could do with a team in his hands, In the end it's just a matter of automatism, team works and organization to me ( like I -tried to- explain(ed) in the Hazard thread ). I really do feel that right now Hazard potential is somewhat being wasted... Now It's not like I know anything about him except what we see from him on the field and the image he let us see of him in interviews etc hence the " feeling ".People are talking about how more consistent he's compared to last year, and I agree he's ( except lately ). But in the end, being consistent, only mean reducing/closing the gap in a player up and down.in no way does it mean becoming a better player. He does feel more mature and less raw than last years but I also do believe he looks less promising than he was.. that's why I wanted you're opinion on whether Mourinho is the type that can " raise " this tpye of players.
  22. I really can't agree with this, Mourinho is a hard worker just like he like his player to be, he's someone who worked really hard to get where he's and it's because of that he's staying true to his approach of the football, because it's what made him what he's today. A genius isn't something you aim to be it's something you're since you're born ( ofcourse you still need to work hard for it to hold any meanings ) It's not like I put too much thought in coaching since I watch football but we may have yet to see what a " real " genius could do with a team in his hands.
  23. Ah don't get me wrong, I didn't meant to imply he can't raise players, he surely can. What I meant it's the type of players that play more with their senses and feelings, I did say in my previous post " the word " genius " is used too lightly " but I really do believe this kind of players can be called genius, something they have but can't be raised/trained. I feel like mourinho is just too true to his tactics and it conflict with those kind of player would need to be able to roam freely.
  24. Genius ? I really don't think so. Again I think he's a great coach, arguably the best ( I don't have any opinion about that ) but there wouldn't even be a shade of doubt about him being the best was he the genius some people think he is. People use the word " genius " way too lightly in my opinion.
  25. They're actually joking after thinking what kind of aftermath their words in the media could bring in some forums. *Mission succeded*
