TEAM NEWS: Chelsea V STOKE CTY

Carlo Ancelotti has selected a strong side for the quarter-final. Didier Drogba leads the attack with Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou in support.

Florent Malouda moves forward into midfield to take the place of suspended Michael Ballack with Frank Lampard moving to the right. Paulo Ferreira will play left-back with Alex coming in to the centre in place of Ricardo Carvalho.

Joe Cole is on the bench alongside the returning Deco. Patrick van Aanholt, the 19-year-old Dutch left-back recently returned from a month's loan at Newcastle is also among the subs.

John Terry's 445th game moves him to equal fifth in Chelsea's all-time appearances.

Stoke make two changes. Robert Huth moves from left-back to the centre of defence to cover for suspended Ryan Shawcross. The former Chelsea defender also takes the captain's armband.

Tuncay replaces Danny Pugh on the left of midfield.

Chelsea are expected to line up in the following 4-3-2-1 formation:

Sorensen; Wilkinson, Ab. Faye, Huth ©, Collins; Delap, Whelan, Whitehead, Tuncay; Sidibe, Fuller.

Substitutes: Simonsen, Lawrence, Davies, Moult, Am. Faye, Pugh, Kitson.

The referee is Martin Atkinson.

Ok maybe i went over the top but kalou is rubbish.

I agree kalou can be frusturating at times but he still scores some important goals. Personally i dont care what competition they are in as long as he is putting them in the back of the net.

Some people are way to harsh on him sometimes.

Not been brilliant in the reserve recently.

He has played in the first team and thats what its like for 90% of players with his potential, once a youngster plays a first team game they dont ever want to look back. When bergkamp made his first team debut for ajax the next game he played was for the reserves, he was terrible for them and the youth team coaches worked out his brain was for the first team at that point. Thats why i would loan him next season to a premiership club like sunderland or bolton.
