If you compare Costa with Cavani, the latter is obviously the more consistent player. He's been scoring at least 15 goals per season since 2008. In his three seasons for Napoli he scored more than 30 every year.

Costa only had two seasons over 15 goals in his whole career. He just had a super season with a super side. He'll of course be better than the two current ones, but that doesn't make him a consistent world class striker.

Well comparing their careers, Lukaku is at least more efficient. Although he lacks some more CL experience of course. At Lukaku's age, Costa had barely played in a first division.
