strong centreback 157
70k a week on average for our first team, that probably includes some of our summer sales that were on big pay packets (ballack, joe cole, deco) if they go off the yearly accounts that are released. Also what needs to take into account is that our highest earners (bar torres) are on their last big contract ie: terry, lamps, Drogba, ashley, so our wage bill you would imagine peaked with last years squad and the club cut the wages paid last year with players leaving and will do the same this summer, so the trend is for the wage bill to decrease while we rebuild the squad slowly with younger player on less (luiz and ramires)

BlueLion. 21,491
I'm wondering how recent this information is? If it is for the 2009/10 financial year (which is most likely), then it'll still include wages for the likes of Ballack, Deco etc.
Styles 9,790
Of course we should be worried. Manchester United have a bigger squad and are currently the best team in England by some margin and yet our underachieving, smaller squad earns significantly more. They comfortably beat us over two legs, are on course for their 4th Premeir Legaue title in 5 seasons and will play their 3rd Champions League final in 4 years next month. Why the f**k does our squad earn more than this lot? It is just further proof of how badly our club is managed.
ack17 205
The high wages mainly due to the arrival of shevchenko and ballack And the club paid too much for our youngsters, kakuta earning 40k per week, and sturridge earning 60k per week

I think sacking Jose or Jose being a bigheaded twat or whatever went on has cost us big time since he left. He was our long term stability manager. In 2005 after our first league win,it was supposed to be us having a decade of dominance.
