Nasri pips Malouda to French crown

Samir Nasri has been named French Footballer of the Year, seeing off the challenge of Florent Malouda and Hugo Lloris.

The Arsenal man was overlooked by his country for the 2010 World Cup, but has starred for the Gunners domestically this season.

Nasri's absence from Les Bleus' farcical showing in South Africa may have worked in his favour, as he was not tarred with the same brush as his national colleagues.

His fine form in the 2010/11 campaign has catapulted him back into the France set-up, though, and Laurent Blanc is keen to build his new-look side around him.

Lol ! It ain't because he didn't go to the world cup. It's because he plays for Arsenal. In France we looooove Arsenal (if you're a frenchman playing for Arsenal, you're pretty sure to play for France).

ps: don't get me wrong, i'm not saying he doesn't deserve it.

Nasri's younger and he wasn't a part of that French team debacle, even though Malouda couldn't have been either because he was captain for some games lately right?

He plays at the same club as Anelka, nuff said lol.

Seems very odd seeing as he was our third highest scorer last season and we wouldn't have won anything without him but he'll just have to move on I guess. Nasri scored more outrageous goals than Malouda too.

I think I'm pulling stuff out of me arse, Flo Mo was the third highest scorer last season right? Or was it Anelka? :hurr

This season, Nasri's been superb. Definitely one of the best players, if not THE best, this season. Malouda had a great 2010, aside from the World Cup fiasco, last season was perhaps one of his best in a Chelsea shirt (after 2 years of us cringing at his name on the team sheet).

Because of the World Cup fiasco, I think all the members of that French team were made instant public enemies. I really don't mind Nasri's won it, I like him, he's a very good player for an age of only 23. I'm just glad a prick like Ribéry or Gallas hasn't got it
