for the same(s) reason(s) of his selection for the Ballon d'Or...

World cup

Hmm.. The World Cup was just for 2 months though. Drogba & Eto'o performed the whole calendar year, for club & country. It'll [should] come down to them.

Agreed... But for the votes, it's always the most mediatic competition who count the more (it's why Canavaro won the Ballon d'Or, for exemple)...

Between Drogba and Eto'o, it will be tight, the first has had a terrific personal season plus a good season with his team, while the seconde has had an extraorinary season with Inter but not a great personal season.

Gyan will win it because he had a lot of attention in 2010. Eto'o should win it but he's won it lots of times so it's kind of someone elses turn. DD has won it before too. Gyan may not get another chance.

I think Gyan's got a chance as well. He's never won it before, they may feel it's his time..

Yeah I guess he's got a remote chance. But I'd be extremely surprised if he did. Apart from the decent WC, he didn't really set the Ligue Un on fire.

Gyan in 09-10 : 13 Ligue Un goals, 3 assists

Drogba in 09-10 : 37 goals in all competitions, 11 assists, Golden Boot in EPL, English Double winner

Eto'o in 09-10 : 18 goals in all competitions, 7 assists, Treble winner

Easy to see why Drog or Eto'o should get it, but hey, it's FIFA, anything can happen.
