LDN Blue 7,903
I lived in Boston. Trust me, I know.Haha fair enough then. But Liverpool will always boast their 5 european cup history (as any club should), but they'll still carry on the same tradition of living in the past and not really growing any more. Rubber bullets 1,183
Do you know much about there new owners? Are they wealthy and do you think they will help them grow?If they are, it will be very hypocritical of Scouse fans who took the moral high ground when Roman bought us. Swoopz 183
Let me put it this way. If Roman was to ever step aside from Chelsea, these are the guys I would want backing us up. New England Patriots (Football) and the Boston Red Sox (Baseball) are extremely wealthy top tier teams. Anything this man touches turns into gold. Not to mention that Liverpool will now have a budget to match Chelsea.
CHD 30
Whole squad needs improvement. For the first time in a long time and maybe ever I don't think there is a Liverpool player who would walk into our team.It will cost 150M+ or so to make them champions material I think and first they would need to get CL football back and that will be harder than ever. Chelsea, ManUtd, Arsenal, City, Spurs to compete with for those 4 spots and any top player coming to England would go to all of them except Spurs before Liverpool. They might have the right guys in charge now but it is some job they have ahead of them. Turning a team in Liverpools state into an elite team again is a hell of alot harder than turning around a NFL or MLB team around. With the debt to clear, stadium to build and big wages they will have to shell out to improve the squad NESV have a huge job on their hands and throug no fault of their own will fail like previous regimes at Liverpool imo (but the scouse will of course blame them)Thats how I see it playing out. chrismada9 1,948
Since we're all Chelsea fans, it would have been an interesting and fun sight to see Liverpool struggling, but I think it would be a huge miss for the Premier League without Liverpool there.I guess it's vital for them to have succeeded in this court case against Hicks and Gillett, because had they have kept hold of the club, there would be massive problems for them, and they would have experienced what happened to Leeds United a few years ago. Financial problems that led to relegation as lowly as League 1. Players leaving the club because of the same problem. The deduction of 9 points would have started a rocky road... not to mention their poor start to the season.
