i do an it corse at college and the best make for grahics sound or memory is NVIDIA.hope that helps you

He asked about memory, not graphics cards.

I know you can check how much memory you have my going to Control Panel, System and General Tab, but not how to find out which type of memory you are using. So I did a search and came across this program called System Info for Windows which you can download here (click Download the Freeware English Version with Installer). Once downloaded (it's only 1.6mb), install it, run it, and along the menu on the right find the Hardware tab and find Memory underneath it. This will give you in depth information including what type of memory you're using.
