He was just saying he didn't go into the tackle to hurt the player, because he knew people would come out and say that he did. We don't know that he didn't give Riccy a good rollocking in private. Public defence but private criticism is definitely the right way to go if you want to keep hold the respect of your squad.sorry mate, i 100% disagree. let ricky defend himself, he has been in situation like this before such as he stepped on rooney's dick (england vs portugal), he buried his studs in marquez thigh and lots more. and if respect is gained as easy as you have said, this world could be a much better place. moreover, he didnt sounds like he mean business especially to his players. avram's act is an easy point of mockery, even to his own players. remember how joe cole improve as a player when mourinho made public on what he didnt like about him and how west ham fortune have changed significantly after their gaffer labelled their player 'baby bentleys' on newspaper.
