Ancelotti expects big things from Fabio Borini

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti rates young Italian striker Fabian Borini highly.

Before this evening’s match against Porto, Ancelotti endorsed Chelsea’s youth set-up.

“There is potential,” he said. “But we have to take our time becausethey’re very young players. They have very good quality. There are17-year-olds who are very, very good. We have to stay working veryclosely with them. I think that the next period, we can put some ofthem in the first-team, players from the academy. I’m sure of that.Also, there’s a young Italian who’s very good though I don’t want tosay the name..”

That player is understood to be Borini.

Fabio Borini hit form big time last season and hasn't looked back since. Such a strong forward and WILL get goals. However he may not necesarilly be talking about Borini as he doesn't name him. Could be Jacapo Sala he is talking about.... although i am sure it IS Borini.

It is great to hear that after spending time now at CFC he has seen enough of the Academy to give it the thumbs up in this way. Carlo has a great bunch of players to try and bring through and it certainly looks as though he is determined to do that. With so many players on loan, this season there is only a few of a chance of first team football, Hutchinson, Bruma, Borini and Kakuta. But next summer will be interesting to see how he deals with the players who have been on loan.

I am so going to marry him (and i'm a straight guy :unsure:).

But, i am so thankful that he is actually considering young people like Borini. I hope he starts/get minutes tonight. Hopeful thinking, maybe but i am really happy for him. LET THE PARTYING BEGIN!!!:yay:
