The trouble is that strikers are judged on their goals. And when playing in a 4-3-3, particulary in those first 2 seasons Drogba has to play more for the team which limits his scoring chances. It is no coincidence that his best scoring season was when we played with 2 up top for the main part....

I agree 100% look at his assists in his second season, he had too sacrifice a hell lot.

In a 4-3-3, there are two responsibilities to a striker - one is obviously to score, but another is to make yourself available to receive the ball and bring other players into the game. Didier does that better than any other striker in the world in my opinion. Playing as a lone striker is incredibly difficult, and whilst he isn't as prolific as Fernando Torres or Samuel Eto'o, his all-round contribution is simply outstanding.

Agreed i think he is the best foil for a goal scoring midfielder and we happen too have the best goal scoring midfielder in the league frank lampard.
