Schofield has finally sorted himself out, really should get home from here. Yeah Dernbach was brilliant, he probably has the best variation in the business but sometimes i wish he'd do it a bit more sparingly. Only losing a couple of quick wickets will stop Surrey winning this. 65 with 11 overs to go is a piece of piss.

Kieswetter is actually a Villa fan but he, Jade Dernbach, Steven Finn and Scotty Borthwick were all at the Bridge for the Swansea game. I know Dernbach is an Arsenal fan but there is a picture of the four of them in Chelsea shirts:

Apparently Kieswetter goes to more Chelsea games than Aston Villa matches though... Blue convert :Goober:

Well there's some pride restored

Anyone see a bit of young Tendulkar in Kholi? Boy's got a long way to go, but already has such an experienced career. In the u19 level, he captained India and led them to victory in the tournament. Big hopes on him, that no3 position is perfect for him.

India have a very, very, good crop of young players waiting to break through. Let's hope the BCCI don't fuck around with them. Need to see Aaron given his chance now! We've won the series, so why not?! I hate seeing him at the water boy when he has so much potential.

I also think Sehwag needs to be dropped. Bhaji has to be brought back in, domestically and in the CL he did superbly! Great work ethic.

No, Bhajji has lived off his reputation for far too long. I'm enjoying seeing the clever Ashwin in the side, not the temperamental 'Turbanator' who the media love for his supposed bravado. The guy's a shadow of a player he once was, he should have been dropped years ago.

The word on Aaron is that he's very wayward but yeah I'd like to see him in the last 2 ODIs, there's no point picking him in the squad if you're not giving him chances.

I watched that u-19 WC win which Kohli captained and it was plain to see straightaway that the lad's going to be a mainstay for years to come. He's a superstar already and his confidence and in-your-face attitude is a joy to watch. Too often we have these utter gentlemen like Rahul and Tendulkar coming through, we need someone who gives us a bit of an edge and is not afraid to give as good as we get from the likes of the Aussies and the English. That's why I love Gambhir too, you won't see him backing down from a challenge. As regards his play, I see a lot of Rahul in him tbh. The wristy play through the leg side, the cover drives, the balance - it's all very good. Paces his knocks perfectly, something I think the IPL has taught these young Indian batsmen, simply because they find themselves in pressure situations in every T20, thus handling the big occasions more deftly on the intl stage. Earlier when I was growing up watching cricket around the mid-late 90s we used to choke badly and wither in the face of pressure, not anymore.

Oh, and Dhoni is a legend. No other word to describe him. Amazing player and leader, Indian cricket will be blessed as long as he's around. See Kohli taking over from him once he's gone.

Cheers for the insight, never got round to watching the actual tournament.

About Bhaji. I know he's not the player he was, but he is reinventing himself. He was brilliant in the Champions League, leading a weakened Mumbai Indians. Then he went domestically and led India Red. I had he was brilliant in that too, with terrific stats. Don't think he's finished yet, certainly can be in a side with Ashwin too. Not very convinced by Jadeja yet, though he's got a big future ahead of himself.

We're very lucky with spin bowlers. Mishra still has a case to claim! Really positive days ahead of us.

Agree about Dhoni. He'll be the first to admit his performance had dropped in England and prior. But now he's looked like he's been fixing up, he's more disciplined and his keeping has improved too!

Can't wait for the Australia series!

Well....the boy cleans up the tail by bowling out. Did he look fast?

It was brilliant!! His line and length was brilliant, the tail had no answer. It's about time we had someone who could clean them up.

He needs more exposure though, but brilliant bowling from him. Happy to see him finally get his chance :D
