the wes 7,212
PHIL SCOLARI plans a swoop for Tottenham wonderkid Giovani Dos Santos in January. The Chelsea boss was left seething after the club lost out to Manchester City in the battle for Brazilian sensation Robinho last summer. And he sees former Barcelona playmaker Dos Santos, 19, as the alternative. The Mexican is keen to link up with former Barca team-mates Juliano Belletti and Deco at the Bridge. Scolari is ready for showdown talks with Chelsea's money men to make sure he gets his man. Spurs would get their money back on the £4million they paid Barca this summer. Dos Santos struggled to make an impact under Juande Ramos at the start of the season. And he has not been a part of Harry Redknapp's White Hart Lane revolution after being struck by an ankle injury. Redknapp has been told by his Spurs chiefs that limited funds will be available in January. So he will have to sell in order to generate cash for his own signings — and Giovani could be sacrificed.
