JohnThierry 0
If they completely out played us, howcome they only had one shot on target? We created better chances than they did regardless of the possession. Football is about attacking and defending and over those two legs I have never seen better defending in my life. We kept the best attacking team in the world from scoring for 180 minutes. Tactically genius by Guus Hiddink, so yes the referee is to blame for us not going through because we were the better side. my point was that we shouldn't be relying on pens. hiddink's tactical genius!!!!! don't attack and hope barca don't score....oops! that was a great fucking tactic!! he's just another big money spend from Roman. things don't go his was so he flashes the cash! Possesion means jack, it's what you do with the ball that counts.

What in the blue hell are you talking about? What does this have to do with Hiddink, clearly you did not watch the match because Chelsea outplayed them the entire match. Yes, the Barca goal was legit and fair, but we also had 4 penalty appeals (especially 2 handballs? how the fuck can you not see them) that were not accounted for which did cost us the game. We created a better chances though they control most of the game, high in ball possession. I can see the commitment and I think we deserve to be in final. Compare to bayern and real, we created a better result. Means here we have a great defence and also a great attakcer who gives 100% focus to win. EskWeston 696
Barcelona are very much like Arsenal, in the fact that because they play supposed "attractive" football they have the right to win every game. When someone sets out to spoil their game plan and come away with a result they don't like it and claim bully boy tactics and everything else they can think of.... Every Barcelona fan will know they got damed lucky yesterday. We restricted the "supposed" best attacking team in the world to 1 shot on target, while at the same time getting a goal ourselves and having some other excellant chances, not to mention being denied other chances illegally which should have resulted in penalties. At the end of the day it has come down to bad luck, and a bad ref. Edited May 7, 2009 by EskWeston

Or just a lucky bunch of Spaniards who have to rely on a 93rd minute hit and hope after being on the ropes for the rest of game and resigned to going out.... Barcelona know that they were out-thought over the 2 legs, like i said for a team that praises themselves on being the best attacking force in Europe, over the 2 legs they were made to look decidedly ordinary.. How they went on and on after 1st leg, saying, we are the best team, we attaacked, Chelsea play anti football, will screw them after the madrid game bla bla bla and now they have just shut their traps cus they know they were lucky to come out victorious and must thank the referee by giving him a life time free acess to Nou Camp. Lol, your not wrong. And now, even though everyone thought it was a wrong descision by the ref, Abidal has come out now and said that he did foul Anelka and "took one for the team" by being sent off!!! tlax25 0
Hah. I watched the game at my local here in Chicago and there were a lot more Barca fans than Chels. They knew they got lucky and one of them even said we were the better side yesterday. All Barca did in all that possession was pass the ball laterally across the midfield. As soon as the ball came into our third, we closed them down very quickly. The first 70 minutes was the finest, most organized CFC team defense I have seen in three years. Barca finally started playing some long balls out to the wings in the final 20 minutes which opened us up a little, but not much. Yeah, all that possession meant a lot.... warnie_666 1,081
Seeing Barca play us over the two legs, it reminded me of Chelsea during the Scolari era. Initially we were scoring goals for fun, but once we were closed down by defenses, we just kept passing the balls laterally with no shots on goal. Efficient football always wins over eye candy football.

tony cascarino 0
Referree was a clown , if he was in a tent he'd have a red nose but we can't blame the refs 110%. I 'm gutted so much we couln't beat Barca but I blame Gussy for not going for it when the ref did us a favore when he sent of Abidal. 11 v 10 give it some more accept we played catenaccio from my home country , but we left the door ajar. It;s a learning curve , the azzuri will be back stronger again next yaer and we'll avenge the others. onwards and upwards let's all stcik together -opinions will always differ but we need each other if we can push for league. Look at united they have one eye on Champions League so you never now.
BlueLion. 21,491
I'm sure the referee was Howard Webb's older brother.
TheStamfordBlues 0
I personally thought the guy who gave the Croatian 3 yellows in the Australian WC match was retarted...but this ref took the cake. Must be in hiding.
