Best pre-match pubs

Two Danes and lifelong Chelsea fans here, visiting London first time to watch the Brighton match at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. We'd like to know, where the best pre-drinks / warm-up pub is in town for a proper local experience. Can you help?

I don't like them.
One time someone attacked me.
First, days before that happening, Olympiakos were playing against PAOK Salonika. The score was 3-2 to Olympiakos.
I ran out of fags, pop out. The man at the kiosk was not in his place but was doing something some 5-6 meters away. From the kiosk's transistor radio a hear a big roar and the man says "PAOK equalised".
Hurriedly I pay for the fags and return inside the pub making awfully rude gestures against an Olympiakos supporter.
But he just looked at me perplexed. It was no goal - it was a dangerous free kick for PAOK Salonika that went just wide and the kiosk vendor was fooled because he was a little away from his radio !

Few days later now. I go to the same pub and just ask "what was the result AEK - Kavala ?".
So now the Olympiakos man becomes mad "you dare ask about that lousy good for nothing football team ?" and kicks me in the butt.
We ended up in the police station but there was no trial because the offense was not considered serious enough ...

Not been down in a while for a game was down for the first time for the Sheffield game I’m down for palace and Preston looking for some good pubs pre game for a few pints and some songs

Butchers Hook, Cock Tavern and the Goose are the pubs i go in pre match.
