the wes 7,212
Former Brazil star Roberto Carlos has criticised Robinho's decision to join Manchester City, insisting he should have signed for "one of the four great English teams" instead... Robinho's €42.5 million transfer to Eastlands shocked the football world. While it was ultimately inevitable that he would leave Real Madrid, it was deemed a certainty that he would join Luiz Felipe Scolari at Chelsea. But the Blues could not match the Citizens' bid, and the North West club proceeded to bag the most expensive transfer in the history of British football. The 24-year-old's move was met with plenty of criticism at the time, with Pele famously declaring that the Sao Vicente native was in need of psychological assessment. And now another of Robinho's compatriots has stuck the boot in, this time former Los Merengues and Selecao team-mate Roberto Carlos. "He’s a talented boy. When I was his age I had chance to move to Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea," the Fenerbahce defender said in the News of the World. "Personally, I’d have only gone to one of those - the four great English teams." Carlos' comments are interesting when one considers that he nearly joined Middlesbrough in the mid-1990s, while Chelsea would not have been classed as a 'great English team' when he was Robinho's age. Well..i still dont understand how dumb can people be to asses Robinho's situation on Transfer deadline. He Wasnt allowed to talk to Chelsea and since Manc City offered more to Madrid they took it. And from there on he had only one option.
Elliott 7
The article even admits itself that the transfer was not under the control of Robinho. 1) People who think Robinho got it wrong 2) People who think Robinho went for the money 3) People who think Robinho had any choice at all These people, they are all morons. The same kind of morons that thought Ballack not being in the European Squad last season was because Mourinho hated him or something rather than because he was injured. Morons.
