.Cee 50
Chelsea are considering advanced plans for a new stadium next to Battersea Power Station, three miles from their current home at Stamford Bridge. The proposed new ground would hold between 65,000 and 75,000 fans and would have a retractable roof. It has been designed by HOK Sports, the company that built Wembley Stadium, the Emirates and the north stand at the Bridge. The plans have been presented to club executives by architects from the company's Putney base and a representative from HOK's New York office. One HOK employee said: 'The presentation was very impressive and was common knowledge around the place. Everyone was talking about it and the pictures of the new stadium were stuck up on the walls at the Putney office.' Source: click here. Elliott 7
I think we have to accept that if we want 40,000 hangers-on we're gonna need a bigger ground! It's not far from the Bridge, but it'd be harder to get to for me which would be annoying. But it'd be adjacent to Chelsea Bridge so connection with Chelsea isn't lost. blue_army 2
Do you really think the prices will be put down ? Of course not! Arsenal have increased their prices since moving and that is exactly what kenyon wants to do. He doesnt give a damn about the diehard fans he would prefer the ground to be filled with 60,000 tourists who will each spend £300 in the megastore. I have just heard from some mates up in blackburn and this song has started in the pub they are in: I am a Chelsea boy and that is all i'll ever be so dont you greedy bastards move my club to battersy My heart is at the bridge and its there that it will stay as the blues go marching on on on Edited November 9, 2008 by blue_army

blue_army 2
Who said they thought the prices would go down? No one on hear but that is the general view of most fans they think that as we will not fill a 60,000 seater stadium ( which we won't) so they will put the prices down
Kez 2,727
we will not be considering moving away from our present stadium until all possibilities of redeveloping Stamford Bridge are exhausted  I really hope they find a way cause i would hate to see us leave the bridge
BlueLion. 21,491
In my opinion, we can't leave the Bridge. It has been our home for 103 years and I hope it shall be for many more. If you want my opinion, I say we should knock down the hotel at the back of the Shed - that way we can increase the Shed to have a third tier, which would add another 5,000 seats, roughly. Isn't the hotel more positioned between the West and MH stand? I'm sure they wouldn't have built the hotel if it blocked any sort of future plans to expand a stand. There is nothing between the West and MH Stands. Don't be so sure Ken Bates wouldn't have done that.

Don't be so sure Ken Bates wouldn't have done that. Yeah I've been to the ground and I've sat in The Shed and MH. The entrance to The Shed is right next to the megastore, at least part of it is, there is that wall that has the plaque on it saying 'this used to be the back of The Shed terrace' or something. There isn't that much room between that wall and the actual stadium. MH has the Sports World thingy ma bob behind it and just west of that is the hotel. Unless I'm completely confusing myself.
