James 5,332
Thomas Tuchel has asked Ben Chilwell to trust him after the left-back has found himself increasingly on the bench. A favourite under previous boss Frank Lampard, Chilwell has found himself out of favour ever since Tuchel took the reins at Chelsea in late January. Jase 43,479
To be fair, Chilwell has started 2 of the 4 league games under Tuchel (although getting subbed in both probably wasn't a good look) while for the FA Cup game, you could look at it and say he was rested for that one. He didn't even play against Morecambe and Luton under Lampard. He is also probably paying the price of being more of a LB, than LWB, in Tuchel's current back 3 setup. Would imagine Tuchel will start with the back 4 at some point. Mind you, when Tuchel switched to a back 4 in the second half at Barnsley, Alonso was the one taken off, with Tuchel citing it a 'tactical change'. Probably knows that he's not good in a back 4 at all. But on the whole, this is the problem when we suddenly get a new manager in. All the deadwoods suddenly become prominent figures in the starting XI again. One would hope that Tuchel is just giving everyone a chance at the moment and not wanting to upset the squad in the middle of the season. Sooner or later, he's gonna have to make a decision and realize why some of the players weren't playing at all when he came in.
NikkiCFC 8,337
But Chilwell is not playing good for 3 months. Against Wolves he and Ziyech were very bad. This is the guy who lost place in LC lineup last season.
