the wes 7,212
Michael Essien is set to give Chelsea a major boost by retur ning to action early in the new year. Blues midfielder Essien, 25, had surgery in France on Thursday and had been expected to be side lined until mid-February. But the Ghanian, who ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament on international duty, is confident of making a speedier recovery. The people

riks12 3
But he was expected to be out for 6 months. I have noticed that most of time the first expected return date is much later than it actually appears to be. For example Ronaldo and Eduardo injuries. Hopefully Essien is back in action for mid-January.

EskWeston 696
Surely it is too early to tell if he will back early or not, he has only just had the operation. Lets hope he does make it back ahead of schedule though because we will need him.
pablo814 1
If he is healed up great, but an ACL isn't something to rush. If he needs the rest let him take it I say. I'd rather have him gone and be 100% next season than have him playing at 75% and re-injure it....
