Radamel Falcao

We don't live in a dream world where the top strikers have no trouble with sitting on the bench where other top players play match after match. Falcao is not done, he is still recovering from injury. Most often when you have an injury like that it takes a year and a half to fully recover... that's what the doctors say anyways.

If we sign him on loan or for a nominal fee and he's not on ridiculous wages we could have the coup of the decade on our hands. I like the fact he allegedly wants to be at Chelsea for a pay cut and also that he is proven at the top level.

My preference is without a doubt for Benteke but I don't know if he fancies coming here to fight for a shirt. If he goes to Utd he walks right into their XI and into the champions league.

No, he left Porto after they qualified. Did the same at Atletico, Monaco and now United. He's never played in UCL

yes he has, he has played 8 games and scored 4 goals in the CL

he even played against us when we beat Porto 0-1, When Anelka scored the winner

I posted both here and a different forum that with Drogba going, and Falcao and Mourinho being clients of Mendes I wouldn't be the slightest surprised to see us either a) sign him on loan with view to buy on reduced wages or b ) sign him outright on reduced wages

He supposedly is willing to take a pay cut, so take advantage of it, we may aswell. I don't think it was all down to injury at Utd, I don't think their style of play suited him, and I have never been convinced LVG liked him, or even that he was a LVG choice

He won't want to be third choice. No way. That's like what, 5 games a season? He's still a huge name.

I would rather see Bamford and Solanke get a chance. They're worthy of being third choice.

I think Falcao is an option to think seriously and coldly.

I've been following this guy since Porto and he is the best Pure forward I've seen in my life. A murderer of the box perfect to play in small spaces with teams
enclosed back defensively. Exactly what we need.

Falcao also is a specialist in making goals in important matches (especially in the finals).

It is true he has had two significant injuries, and this season he has shown not fully recovered physically from his injury. But it is also true that the blame for his poor performance was Van Gaal that has been dedicated to demoralize him since the beginning of the season.

With Jose would be totally different. Falcao would come to the Bridge with a manager who fully trust him and would feel supported from the beginning to be extra-motivated.

This summer Falcao plays Colombia in the American Cup and I am quite sure that his performance will be totally different. His big problem was motivational. Van Gaal did not want his signing and when Van Gaal does not want a player he forgets him totally.

And I think the comparison with Fernando Torres makes no sense. Torres was a very overrated player in Liverpool and his signing was a mistake. But Falcao has been one hundred thousand times better than Torres. There is no comparison between them.

And, in addition, to win Champions League we need experienced players.

And Falcao would be the best way to improve Diego Costa, encouraging strong competition between them. and with Falcao + Diego Costa we could play at certain times of the season with two forward as a new tactical variant.

Falcao is 29, he is still young to think that he's finished. His loan would be a great signing.

Regards.

How the fuck is Falcao still a thing?!

I guess I should not be surprised that he still has his fans when even Torres still had his right to the end of his Chelsea career..

Falcao only had one bad season, how can you compare it with what Torres did in like 3 years (and the amount of chances he got in those years)? Falcao injury was an awful one, and the move to United was not right for him.

After such injury, absence for a full year, he needed to play and LVG's United is not the right team for his profile, LVG likes ball playing strikers who can play outside the box and Falcao is a different striker. i think he deserves another season, to see if maybe he can get back to himself, at least some of the player he was, with a different team and more game time.

Reduced wages and a loan why not.

Yes I know it would be nice and romantic for Bamford to come in and be Harry Kane mark 2, but he will probably need a PL loan before a full assessment is done on his long term chances here.

Even if he is as bad as he was at United or worse flops as bad as Torres it won't be that big a deal on a loan with low wages aswell as Costa and Remy around.

One beyond terrible season after a semi retired season in Monaco where he was out-scored by Salomon Kalou with a weaker Lille team.

He's not getting his main asset, his pace, back after that injury, and it's evident that he has lost his finishing touch. There is literally NOTHING at the moment that would make anyone want him except his name. He's showed nothing footballing wise that would make a club like Chelsea want him in a long time.

I think we've had enough of signing washed up ex-stars because they are marketable.
