xPetrCechx 13,571
Before AVB signed no one here would of even given Falcao a chance, Why? Because Hes one dimensional and OVERRATED! I Don't think that 38 goals in 42 Apps coming from overrated player.the reason that nobody given him a chance is that arsenal was leading to sign him and chelsea wanted lukaku. LDN Blue 7,903
You are just repeating over what i have been saying. But thanks for the support. You're welcome. It's an issue, no matter how much there are complaints about the supply, even if we solved that with a few playmakers, next season or the one after, this will be a bigger issue if not addressed in this window. Tomo 21,751
Aslong as it don't fuck up Sturridge's chances and we get some better service im all for it.
Jose M 140
I wanted Cavani or Falcao before Roman decided to waste money on Torres.....TORRES is a incredible talent and everyone that is hating on him are being way to hasty to judge. Give the dude a break He hasn't had a break in 5 odd years and players in the most demanding league in the world! Plus had to deal with a bad run of injuries. xPetrCechx 13,571
I'm sure at 100% that if we signed Falcao for $ 30 Mil instead of Torres for 50 Mil,he will have now at least 10 goals.

DYC. 7,542
I don't think Sturridge will be used as a centre forward. I believe he'll be deployed as a winger. As for Drogba, yes he's still got the quality to score numbers of goals, but I think we should sell him while we can. No disrespect to the big man but he's entering the penultimate year of his contract (I believe?) and we could still sell him for at least £15million. To pay £25million for Falcao would therefore be a worthy investment. You're right about the fact a manager would not switch strikers every few games, not with a 4-3-3 anyway. This is where it'll be worth seeing the kind of system he plays, yes 4-3-3 but with what kind of attack. Which in that case Falcao & Torres can play in the same XI with even Sturridge on the flank.Sturridge will of course be used as a CF if the first or first two options are not available.Nobody is going to pay at least 15 mil pounds for a 33-year old striker who's contract runs out next year. And I guess we disagree on this but I don't believe in paying 30 mil Euros on a back-up. Especially not on someone of Falcao's class (people thinking he'll be fine with a 2nd choice role are fooling themself).Falcao and Torres in the same line-up in a 4-3-3 formation? I'd love to see how that works out.Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Guest justin_3d
Like what happened with Shevchenko... Sort of, but i think it was mostly cause Mourinho did not want him. In the case over here Carlo did wanted Torres. Not sure what AVB thinks of Torres. But for me AVB seems a better coach then Carlo. And maybe he can help Torres get his form. But the jury is still out on Torres.

I don't mean for Falcao to be a back up, I mean for him and Torres to bring the best out of each other. I think they could work together and also push each other to bring the best out of each other. Maybe even Torres will be pushed behind as a support striker (his movement would compliment that role). Anyway like you said, we'll wait and see! Guest justin_3d
Dont ask me why but i have a funny feeling AVB will make Josh's development one of his priority's.I hope he can help Sturridge, Josh and Kakuta get their game on. And any other youngster will be amazing, like Lakovic, or Clifford. Get these youngster playing, and we won't need to buy creative midfield. Come on AVB surprise us with these youngsters. We are dying to see our younger guys get some good game time.

In the case over here Carlo did wanted Torres. Not sure what AVB thinks of Torres. The only way we will find that out is how he fairs during pre-season. Boas has already said that the players will be respected of their quality and he will give them a chance in some games before he makes a choice on what to do with them. Anyway like you said, we'll wait and see!LDN, I agree with some of your points but this one I can't. Torres has never been and will not be a SS. He is an old fashion #9 (which has both been good and bad for him) and to play him otherwise is a waste. If he could play SS, Carlo would have done it this past season with him supporting Drogba. And Carlo never did. Drogba was the one who was asked to play out of position to the right even if Torres did go wide and deep quite often. But that was out of necessity or else he would have never seen the ball.

Maybe even Torres will be pushed behind as a support striker (his movement would compliment that role). What's this thing some people here have with playing players out of their natural position . Torres as a second striker, as in Torres being the link between midfield and attack and the creative spark in the middle when for as long as I've known he is someone who plays off the shoulder of the last defender and hardly gets involved in build-up play.. that would be interesting to see. dodojojo 510
And i could say the same about Lukaku.I don't care how one dimensional he is, like i said before he is more or else like Chicarito, in the sense that all he does is score goals!Yes, Chicharito worked because Rooney is a SS. Torres isn't remotely like Rooney. So how will AVB play Torres and Falcao together?
Jose M 140
How can Lukaku be overrated? He's still SOOOOO young and got everything to prove, If AVB is as intelligent as we all think he is He'll sign Lukaku instead of Falcao!
Guest justin_3d
Yes, Chicharito worked because Rooney is a SS. Torres isn't remotely like Rooney.
