Alee. 182
I know we've signed Diego Costa and that goes a long way in addressing the striker problems we've had ever since Drogba left, but is it going to be good enough? Jose says we're done for the summer, but he's lied before and he may be lying now.I, for one, don't think we can rely on Torres-Lukaku-Costa as our only strikers going into next season. Torres is a liability while Lukaku and Costa are risks. If we have an injury to Costa, for example, we'll be in a much worse position than last season!I'm not sure if we're going to see more of Schurrle and maybe Fabregas in a false 9 role, but I do believe if we're going to line up with the same formation of having an all-out striker up front, we definitely need one more. And that too of the caliber of starting games in the Prem!If you look at City's strikeforce, for example, they have Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo and Jovetic - four top quality strikers. It's that versatility that and options which got them the Prem last year. What do you guys think? Are we overestimating Costa's ability to make all our striker problems go away? Or do we need one more top quality striker?
Jase 43,479
This is not to shoot down the points mentioned above or anything but seems like every now and then, we'll have threads about our defence, midfield and strikers.Perhaps a general thread should be created for each of them... The Skipper 20,609
This has been said countless and countless of times... You really can't compare City's situation to our own because they almost always play with two strikers.

Tomo 21,751
Eto'o would have been a good safety net for Costa and Lukaku/whoever this coming season. Oh well.
