Blues stars ride quad bikes without helmets

FOUR Chelsea stars head for trouble — by riding quad bikes without helmets.

The Blues aces sped along a busy road to a pub after training.

They did not break any laws but safety experts blasted their silly antics — and they risked a roasting from boss Avram Grant days before two of the biggest matches in the side’s history.

The group left Chelsea’s training ground at Cobham, Surrey, at 4pm on Thursday on identical blue Yamahas and rode four miles to Esher. John Terry, 26, and Joe Cole, 26, shared one while Ashley Cole, 27, and Steve Sidwell, 25, drove the other.

The gang — in flip-flops, casual tops and shorts — rode to a sunny beer garden and had pints of shandy before heading back.

Ashley Cole — a black scarf pulled over his face — even mounted the kerb.

The jaunt came as Chelsea prepared for their league clash with Bolton tomorrow — when they could snatch the title — and an imminent Champions League Final showdown with Man Utd.

Campaigners said all four should have copied goalie Petr Cech and worn helmets.

One fan said: "It was mad not to have headgear."

There have been several high-profile crashes, with celebs Ozzy Osbourne and Rik Mayall almost killed.
