Fully deserved again, even though I personally hope Rami and maybe Bane will win that one day. Nice ceremony aswell, no ugly faces around, emotional moments with Frank and Bobby, very nice speech by JT... Shitty season, but a pretty good end to it. Future seems a lot better, and next season we'll be right up there competing to win the league. :D

Juan Mata becomes only the 4th Chelsea player (after John Hollins, Ray Wilkins & Frank Lampard) to win back-to-back Player of the Year award.

Juan Mata becomes the 9th player in the club's history to have won both the Player of the Year awards.

No Chelsea player have won the Player of the Year award for 3 consecutive years. Hat-trick for Mata in 2014?

Its scary how dysfunctionakl we are when he and Hazard don't play.

Just like Barca are without Messi, and the likes of Real Madrid or Bayern would be without Ronaldo, or Robben and Ribery, respectively.

So happy for Mata, he's had two amazing years, and Oscar's goal was undoubtedly the best goal scored by a Chelsea player this season.

Yeah, I guess so, but I would have been more pleased with Hazard winning either the Players or Fans POTY...

Yeah. He has been amazing this season but think he will give Mata a run for his money for next year's awards.

Fully deserved by Mata. It's not usual that you'll get the fans and players both pick the same player. The fans will always lean towards picking up an exciting, attacking talent, whereas the players will always appreciate someone who puts in the work that doesn't get the headlines (the likes of Ramires and Makelele). However it is clear this year that Mata has taken the team by the scruff of the neck at times and carried us over the line.

Winning goals away at Spurs, Arsenal and United is not to be undervalued!

Hazard has given the team an explosive edge to it's game which I think will push us on to the next level next season. I also believe that he will develop into one of the best players in the world and most natural, skilful talents ever to play for the club. However, there was a chunk midway through the season where Hazard (understandably) struggled. Mata on the other hand, has been our most consistent threat throughout the season and is certainly deserved winner of both awards. At this moment in time he's our best player and this simply supports such an argument.

Bit premature, don't you think?

Of course, anything can happen at this crazy club in a year. IMO Eden will be an absolute beast next season having settled in and made some good friends in the team. That little man is going to be something special for us, and with Jose at helm only sky is the limit.

It does look that way, but let's wait till the start of the season at least before we nominate him for the Ballon D'ore. ;)
