The Ice Hockey Thread

Are there any people here that know about, or are a big fan of Ice Hockey? I've been playing the NHL12 demo tonight, and I'm slowly beginning to get into the sport because there are a lot of Swedish people that play it!

I've been doing some research on the different NHL teams as well! I don't know if this is right or not, but apparently the Vancouver Canucks are supposed to be the most successful NHL club at the moment, with two identical Swedish twins Daniel and Henrik Sedin as their star players!

Anyone else know anything of the sport, and do you follow a certain team?? Would love to know more about the sport, and the specific rules of play as well because it can get very confusing sometimes!

Finally a hockey thread! I'm a huge hockey fan and especially a NHL fan. My favourite team is Detroit Red Wings. Btw, don't forget that Finland is the most recent world champion of hockey and they beat Sweden 6-1 in the final.

No disrespect to you or anything, but I remember watching that game and I wanted Sweden to win.. you could tell my disappointment afterwards ... to tell you the truth though, the Swedes were pretty awful that game and they deserved what came to them!

I thought I'd bump this because I know Jusek is a huge hockey fan, and I for one, am determined to get this thread going like the Cricket thread at the moment, seeing as I am still getting to grips with the NHL season as I've been casually looking at the NHL website on news regarding regular matches!! And I'm growing a real interest in the Canucks because of the Sedin brothers

Is there anyone else on this forum who has an interest, (albeit a dim one, but every slight interest counts) in the sport?

Those guys just have a creepy good connection on ice. I don't like 'em but they can play very entertaining hockey together and make some sick plays.

From the standpoint of a die-hard Colorado Avalanche fan I want us to win it but realistically seen it will be one of those long time contending teams, such as the Sharks.
