Why are people saying de Gea will flop? Are you really so naive, just because a few formative matches have led to mistakes? He's adapting, you don't lose your qualities as a goalkeeper overnight

It's "flop of the season" not "flop of the next decade." I think he'll get things sorted after a year or so, but I think this season will be quite rough. Maybe not Barthez circa 2001, but still rough.

Why is it naive? Aren't we allowed to have justified opinions after 2 cagey matches by him? Although I didn't name him as a flop, I easily could've and thought about it. On the other hand there is nothing to prove that Carroll will be a flop as of yet, but naming him isn't naive? Not sure if you're being serious though

I do believe it is naive.

Of course you can have your doubts, but to say he will be a flop is just incredible as far as I'm concerned. I'd be worried if I was a United fan, yet I'd still feel confident he'd come through.

Totally agree, he's a young kid and will prove to be a top quality keeper, he's just made a couple of mistakes all goalkeepers do.
