I agree, but the process will be extremely difficult. There may be second generation American-born who don't see themselves as American, yet go to American schools, etc. The legal ramifications alone would cause aneurysms. The politicians will never address the problem because it's "controversial" and they don't want to lose votes.

That is why i hate these stupids politics.

Immigrants provide a great source to the country, that a better system has to be in place.

Like Weed will provide great income for the country.

It's funny that things that kill more people like Beer, and smoking are still legal, like something like Marijuana is not....

Our country is ass backward!

As long as drug violence doesn't slip into our borders, I don't really care how many South and Central Americans cross. If I were in their shoes, I'd certainly try.

That should stop.

I don't want no more of that crap. You either like our country and want to be American, or leave!

I am for immigrants, but they must support our country and be one with our country.

A separate nation will never prosper.

That's an inconceivable notion, why would anyone who emigrates to another country to seek a better life and opportunities give up their culture and traditions? More then likely their offspring will assimilate in the population as first generation citizens of that country and their native culture will dilute through future generations.

And you really think drug is pass by people jumping fences?

Drug traffickers are very sleek, and they bring the sources by great means.

Helicopters, votes, people with power and such.

The problem is, some of them aren't. They grow up in the Latino social constructs separated from the rest of society and end up speaking broken English even though they were born here.

I'm talking about the violence. I know how drugs get into this country, I'm just saying I don't want heads in coolers on this side of the border. It hasn't happened yet, thank goodness. As for the drugs themselves, I'll leave you to your opinions on that.

With violence you will have it all.

The best i can see, is for getting a background screening check, and if they have a bad record, criminal record, then send them out. We don't want those people.

Hard working people, yes we want those.

I wasn't talking about the USA but simply referring to anyone that emigrates, it's clearly not about liking your new countries culture, it's about respecting your own and not forgetting where you come from. Most people aren't emigrating simply to experience a new culture, there fleeing political unrest, famine, war, other issues. I'm not trying to argue with you just putting it across that people aren't going to be quick to forget who they are.

For a lot of the original immigrants, it was a choice of necessity. They had to move here to feed their families or escape violence of some kind. I'm not surprised they don't feel close to America. They'd leave if it were feasible to, but their countries are too fallow for them to make a decent living.

True that. True that.

But you added the notion respect. And that is awesome.

Some guys don't even respect this country and still live here.....

Yeah but you should at least respect the country that is feeding you, not bad mouth it.

Yeah, I don't quite get that. Maybe it's bitterness from what happened to their country of birth? Maybe they're just cranky because "we don't do it like in (_____)". Remember, nationalist pride can come from anywhere.

Sorry, I missed that while I was typing my last post. Again I wasn't referring to USA but just giving an example of emigration. Over here there has been a huge influx of eastern european and south east asian migrants, I know what you mean by an independent social structure to the rest of the population, but it's only the first wave of migrants we've had from these regions, where overtime it's expected that as their children grow up feeling more Irish then say Filipino for example, much like the carribean and indian influx experienced in the uk during the late 70's and early 80's.

That isn't happening on a significant scale here, and that is partially our fault. We aren't making the effort to integrate them into our society, we're standing across from each other yelling "GET THEM (put offensive term towards Latin Americans here) OUTTA HERE!" or "GIVE THEM AMNESTY"! It isn't productive and the problem gets worse by the day.

I remember a American descent from Mexico told me, how would you feel being a citizenship, being stop to ask for paper, because the way you look?

And he has a point.

Very sad indeed.

Stupid politics!
