Madmax 9,219
I never dispensed your argument that we are obsessed with being fair. All I am saying is it is not fair to call the Indians racist just because they want a fair bride (although this happens with only narrow minded Indians. Not all Indians are like that). White people are obsessed with tanned skin. So? It's a human tendency to want what you don't have. Why do you see people sunbathing?India is a racist country no doubt but to say they are racist because they are obsessed with being fair is Wrong.90% of Indians would go bezerk if someone in their family married a white girl or had a white girl friend. That proves that they aren't obsessed with Fair skin. You know what racism is? Hatred against ones race. What you are talking about is people wanting something they don't have an tag them racist. Which is Wrong.First you admit we're obsessed with white skin, then you say 90% aren't. Bit contradictory there. To my mind, being obsessed with white skin reveals a deep seeded dislike for one's own appearance and indeed those of others who happen to be dark. Why are South Indians referred to derogatorily as "kaalia"? It's often passed off as being merely in innocence and jest, but is it really? I don't think so, not in some cases any way. Have you seen the way in which Blacks are portrayed in the entertainment mediums here? Tell me that's not due to an inherent superiority complex we feel we have over them. And you say most people would 'go bezerk' if someone from the family happened to have a white girlfriend. Why so? Is that not unfair bias against a race? The white skin bias for me is a metaphor for our approval of anything and everything Western. I never said all Indians are racist, that is naturally impossible in any country of the world. Certainly there's little or no racial violence here, unless the subject of race gets mixed with alleged religious propaganda, which is a volatile cocktail (eg. Graham Staines,1999). They like white skin, they are obsessed with being fair in a similar way that whites are obssessed with getting a tan. There is nothig racist about it. But 90% of indians would not have a white guy or a woman marry member of their family which makes you wonder if they are as obsessed as you are trying to potray them? Now that's a racist society cus they don't like people from other races as part of their families. I know it's contradictory but that's how the society in india is. If dark skinned people want to be fair and fair people want to be brown then what's the harm? It's just like saying plastic surgery is bad which it is and shows a strong dislike towards oneself.Kaalia is derogatory? It's as derogatory as Black in English. Both words mean the same. I can show you several instances where Indians have made mockery of white men in media. No offense to anyone here but Indians in india consider whites as stupid and innocent cash cows and would milk them for money cus they consider themselves street smart which they are. Kaalia is derogatory? It's as derogatory as Black in English. Both words mean the same. Yes the word means 'black' but it's not the word itself, it's the way in which it is spoken that gives away the true intention behind saying it. "Ae kaalia idhar aa" is racist as far as I'm concerned.I can show you several instances where Indians have made mockery of white men in media. No offense to anyone here but Indians in india consider whites as stupid and innocent cash cows and would milk them for money cus they consider themselves street smart which they are.True, but there again it's a different thought process where white women are concerned. There's a perception among the more rural folks for example that white women are outgoing, in a slutty kind of way. They're objects of desire, to put it bluntly. Well here is an example of our society's dislike towards white as well even though we are apparently obsessed with white skin.Yes there is no racial violence here. But that doesnt change the fact that we are a racist country. True We don't beat up people from other races like the nazi skin heads but we have our own ways of showing discrimination. there is religious violence and violence between different caste.Bottom line is the country is obsessed with discrimination. Guest justin_3d
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=768h3Tz4QikFunny. But on a serious note, Immigrants help the economy a lot.Just that politics are retard and can't come with a better plan.Have the immigrants pay a fee for coming illegally, kick out the people with bad criminal record, have the people staying learn English, and show patriotism for their new country! Not Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador or stuff like that. If you are in America, and want to be in America, then you are AMERICAN! Not Latino!!! Northern india is where you have the fair skinned people from the Aryan race and southern india is where you have the darker skinned people who are from the Dravidian race. Therefore it's not just limited to Africans

Not Latino!!!The U.S.-Mexico fan distribution at the Rose Bowl a few weeks back says otherwise. The situation is very similar to the Turks in Germany, ignored for so long that they created their own social constructs. Both sides chose to be separate, so it isn't surprising that some Latinos don't identify themselves as Americans.

There may be second generation American-born who don't see themselves as American, yet go to American schools, etc. The legal ramifications alone would cause aneurysms. The politicians will never address the problem because it's "controversial" and they don't want to lose votes.

It's funny that things that kill more people like Beer, and smoking are still legal, like something like Marijuana is not....Our country is ass backward! They grow up in the Latino social constructs separated from the rest of society and end up speaking broken English even though they were born here.
