When mourinho kicks out mikel (which he has already done), what will be the next excuse of the apologists? My money is on them bringing up casillas example and proclaim that mourinho is not a good judge of talent.
-
I am also a firm believer in that Nigerian angle. Also, when Mikel moved to Chelsea in 2006, Emenalo was one of the agents involved. Emenalo is not the most transparent person in this regard.
-
Just like the other 32 times last season when Mikel played. I think our front four really hate mikel and underperform to make mikel look bad. (Am I doing it right?)
-
This post is dangerously close to RAWKite behavior
-
One wonders till how long will you keep blaming the front 4 for mikel's poor play.
-
Even if one were to ASSUME that mourinho absolutely hates mata and luiz and can't stand them, they will still not be sold. Chelsea football club does not give managers such absolute power and say in player trading. Our past record with managers means there is no guarantee when mourinho might go out of favor, but not the case with players.
-
David luiz n oscar were regular starters in a brazil team that won all their matches at confeds n also the trophy while mikel could only get his team to win 1 game (vs tahiti) and lost the other 2 games. Interestingly mikel still had the better summer.
-
Choulo19 will be put on suicide watch when mourinho's intentions become clear.
-
There was no argument left once you got into those conspiracy theories.
-
I think I get it. Its never mikel's fault. He is the best player in the world. Its just this awful universe that conspires against him. 1. Even in individual stats, mikel comes up a cropper except for safety safety first passing that the opposition does not mind in any way. 2. That ball retention skill is because opposition hardly tries to win the ball off him as they know mikel will not hurt them. Of course you will not know that because you don't actually watch us play. Remember when our pivot was outnumbered by Juventus n mikel played it straight to a juve player? I am sure you don't because you dont watch games.
-
Choulo19 is making stuff up. His lies have been exposed in almost every thread. He once claimed that oscar cannot tackle. When slapped with actual numbers on his face, he refused to post again.
-
The countless other factors which only effect us negatively when Mikel plays. This universe I tell thee. So unfair
-
So, you are saying that the entire Universe conspires against Mikel. Anything that can go wrong does go wrong and Mikel is just a poor victim in all this huge conspiracy. Maybe Chelsea are better off without such an unlucky player on the field. PS: Not that I believe in any such delusion that you come up with, I am just trying to understand this deep rooted victimhood mentality.
-
Lolwot? So the refreeing decisions only effect us negatively when Mikel starts? the manager's tactics went wrong only when Mikel started? This is a new low, even for you. Your stats were manipulated does not mean all are. The stats I posted, I was being lenient towards Mikel. Here is some more detailed info. Of those 19 games that Mikel started, he was substitued out 8 times. Want to know what happened in those 8 games? 1. We were losing 2-1 to Reading when Mikel was on the field. He was subbed out and then we won the game 4-2 2. We were drawing 0-0 vs Stoke at home. Mikel was subbed out and we won the match 1-0. Mikel getting subbed in did not change any results but him getting subbed out meant we won 2 more games which we were losing/drawing while he was on the field. So that 19 starts, 9 wins, 5 draws and 5 defeats would have been 19 starts, 7 wins, 6 draws and 6 defeats. Next time do some background work before hitting that post button.
-
Ofcourse you can say that. But here is the catch. You are including a game where mikel came on in injury time after stipulated 90 mins vs WBA You are including a game where mikel came on for 4 minutes vs WHU and another 3-0 win over fulham where Mikel came on for the last 14 minutes. But hey, Its choulo19, one can expect such brainfarts from the man time to time. If you confine the discussion only to PL. 19 starts for mikel, 9 wins, 5 draws n 5 defeats. 31 goals scored, 23 goals conceded, average league position of opponents: 10.3 in the other 19 games, 13 wins, 4 draws and 2 defeats. 44 goals scored, 16 conceded, average league position of opponetns: 11.5 If you are quoting my post, atleast bother to read it in its entirety. I did say that there was one style that suited his defensive abilities. Unfortunately we don't play that way anymore and we have players who are capable of much more. Regarding that 277 appearances in 8 seasons, John O'shea made 393 appearances in 10 seasons at ManU. For more you can read previous pages on this thread, this managers argument has been tackled before.
-
The only defensive style that suits mikel is when we defend with 10 men behind the ball. Otherwise he is useless defensively. Saying otherwise aint gonna change the reality. If you are braindead, not sure calling others as blind is a good idea. And that goals per game in pl was 1.21 with mikel n 0.81 without mikel. Not to mention our superior goal scoring, match winning performances when he did not play in PL. 1.68 points per game in pl with mikel, 2.26 points per game without mikel in pl.
-
Average league position of our opposition when Mikel started: 10.3 Average league position of our oppostion when Mikel did not start: 11.5 Not much difference there. Considering the fact that we dropped 5 points vs QPR(final position 20), 2 points vs Reading (promoted team n final position 19), 3 points vs Newcastle (final position 16), 5 points vs Southampton(newly promoted, final position 14), 3 points vs West Ham (promoted team n final position 10), I am not sure how you can call games against bottom teams of PL as "really easy games".
-
Conceded 1.61 goals per game when mikel started, 0.81 goals per game when he did not. Seems like the MAJOR problem has been identified.
-
Moses was here with us for one year. We know what he is capable of against what sort of opposition. All the teams that we have played in pre season are not top tier teams. Last season, we saw he does well against Europa Cup level teams. The current Inter Milan side is just that level. Moses doing well against them is hardly any surprise. Some of you lot come out with guns blazing and say things like "where are those people who said he should be sold for 9 million", "moses performance is a perfect fuck you for all of you haters". We are just objecting to that. MVG on the other hand is an unknown quantity for most of us. We have hardly seen him play before. His performances against average opposition have been positive and we are yet to see him against top level opposition. The difference between the two is this: While we saw moses play and come up a cropper against top teams, we haven't yet seen how Ginkel will perform in those matches. But with the unknown, there is always room for optimism.
-
Can we please stop quoting African Nations Cup to prove a player's worth. Its a second rung competition, lets not make a big deal out of it. Which were these good performances of Moses before AFCON that people keep raving about? I can only remember the FA Cup game vs Southamton (Ba's debut). He was below par for pretty much all the other games.
-
Yeah, a good half against a struggling Inter Milan in a pre season friendly. Perfect fuck you indeed.
-
look at you taking the moral high ground while completely ignoring the fact that mikel plays deeper than ramires n lampard n hence that 2% diff is not a positive. and you are right that our problem last season was moving the ball forward from pivot. That is because we played the woeful John Obi Mikel there. Whenever he was replaced by other players, our gameplay and results were much better. I know you don't argue with me about mikel because I have exposed your lies about him time n time again.
-
Bit difficult to pass backward when even your CBs are more mobile than you and end up going farther up the pitch. Thats like saying Cech is the most positive/attacking player in the chelsea team as 100% of his passes are forward. and that also explains why he looks better in possession than Ramires and Lampard. Amateur watchers will not understand that since he hardly looks to trouble the opposition with the ball, they let him have his own sweet time on the ball. Ramires n Lampard on the other hand regularly move higher up the pitch, have better shots on them, are more adventurous with passing. But I don't expect biased and novice fans to understand this. Diego Simeone (Athletico Madrid's coach) shared these thoughts after our UEFA super cup defeat at their hands last year. http://www.futaa.com/football/article/mikel-is-one-dimensional--diego-simeone

oooh, people don't agree with me, I am gonna start calling them cunt. People like you will be put on suicide watch next year when Ramires, Essien, Ginkel, Lampard relegate him to the bench. and he can't be released because the club has 5 year contract with him (you can thank emanalo for that). Till no team bids for him, chelsea can't do anything and we all know that is not going to happen. No team will buy such a useless player. YES. Some people like you and your compatriots are not Chelsea fans, just Mikel fans who have bandwagonned along to Chelsea. We know that. regarding that accusation, here is a logical flow diagram that should help you. IF Mikel starts and 1. Chelsea play well: Mikel had a part to play in Chelsea playing well 2. Chelsea played poorly: Mikel had a part to play in Chelsea playing poorly IF Mikel does not start, Mikel gets no credit/blame if Chelsea plays well/poorly.
