  4. This boys determination is amazing !
  5. Bluelion if roman is blaming grant for something that clearly was not his fault at all, how much does our owner really know about football ?
  6. Its very nice to know we have a quality goal scorer like anelka at the club just in case drogba is injured.
  7. I cant believe roman blamed him for the terry penalty kick.
  8. Avram Grant returns to Chelsea on Wednesday night keen to put one over Roman Abramovich after feeling like the fall guy during his time at Stamford Bridge. The Portsmouth boss has very different problems at Fratton Park than he experienced at Chelsea but when reflecting on his time in the capital it clearly still rankles. Grant was a surprise successor to Jose Mourinho but quietly won over the sceptics in taking Chelsea to the UEFA Champions league final in his solitary season in charge. Manchester United claimed the European Cup that year and Chelsea also had to play bridesmaids in the league as Grant paid the price with his job. Grant claims Blues owner Abramovich blamed him for all manner of the club's disappointments throughout his tenure. "Every day there is always someone in the street who will remind me of that John Terry penalty. Would I have kept my job if we had won the Champions League? I really don't know," said Grant. "The chairman said it was my fault Terry missed and it was my fault that we didn't start that season so well. "He forgot I wasn't the manager at the beginning. It was all my fault. That was my job as the manager - to be guilty." Grant, who is still negotiating a pay-off following his dismissal at Chelsea, was eventually replaced by the higher profile but less successful Luiz Felipe Scolari. Vindicated The Brazilian's time at the helm was even shorter than Grant's and the Pompey chief feels vindicated in his belief that the club made a mistake in his axing. "I proved everything I needed to at Chelsea. The facts speak for themselves," he continued. "It was more than anyone at the club expected. I can only be proud. It was one of the best seasons in their history. "The team was not in a good situation when I took over. Not in terms of performance, not in points and not in Europe after they had just drawn against Rosenborg. "Nobody knew who I was and I was trying to do things a different way to Mourinho, which was going to take time. "Arsene Wenger and Alex Ferguson needed more than one year to put their influence on the team. I did it in a very short time with the help of a great staff and great players. "I believed it was right for me to stay because the team was improving all the time. "Every month we got better. In the last three months we won all the big games. "But the owner made a decision. I had two choices - to look back or look forward. I chose to look forward."
  9. Were the hell has sturridge gone by the way ?
  10. Still that goal record even for a midfielder in France is poor. We need a goal scoring midfielder the Russian midfielder would be better.
  11. "They are taking all our woman" scousers
  12. We have not seen kakuta in the premier league at full pelt yet we have seen cameo performances. Miralem Pjanic might be better than gael kakuta now, but in future gael will be a huge player for us. I don't want us signing players who will stagnate our younger players future. By the way miralem Pjanic's goal record in the french league makes me sick !
  13. Didier Drogba admits that he is looking to minimise the amount of time he spends away from Chelsea at the African Cup of Nations. The striker is expected to join up with the Ivory Coast at the end of December, two weeks before the tournament starts, and may be away from Stamford Bridge for over a month. However the 31-year-old revealed that he intends to speak to national team manager Vahid Halilhodzic about delaying joining up with the rest of the squad. Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti will no doubt want his star striker, who scored twice against Everton on Saturday, to remain for as long as possible before departing for Angola especially after a run of four games without a win in all competitions. "I will speak to the national team manager and then try to speak as well with Carlo Ancelotti to find the best deal for us," he said. "It's going to be difficult to leave, of course, Chelsea are paying my wages, and just for that it's going to be difficult to go - and for a month as well. It's tough. "But I think they understand we players have no choice. We have to go because we have to represent our countries. "We want to be here with Chelsea but at the same time we have to go. We are in between, it's a difficult decision to make but we know what we have to do. Coping well "The good thing is that the club respects that. They have shown a lot of respect for the African players and I hope my team will be able to cope while we are away." The frontman was quick to highlight that if the Blues falter while he and the likes of Michael Essien,Salomon Kalou and John Obi Mikel are away he will not be afraid to phone them and say his piece. "I hope they can stay top of the table. I will follow us from afar and I will give them some phone calls if we lose points." With Chelsea holding hopes of challenging at home and abroad this term, and Ivory Coast having safely qualified for the World Cup next summer, Drogba faces a busy schedule but he admits he would not have it any other way. "It's a lot of football to play but a few years ago I was in the Second Division in France so this kind of season is really exciting for me," he highlighted. "At Chelsea we are competing for the league and Champions League and FA Cup so it's an exciting season rather than a difficult one."
  14. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5766378,00.html Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka has hailed the potential of 18-year-old compatriot and team-mate Gael Kakuta. Kakuta courted controversy earlier in the season after Fifa ruled that Chelsea had induced the player to break his contract with old club Lens in 2007. The French youngster was initially banned for four months as a result but his punishment, along with the Chelsea transfer ban, has now been suspended. He has been allowed some first-team action as a result and the fleeting glimpses have already displayed Kakuta's potential. Fellow Frenchman Anelka says the winger has all the abilities to be a world-class player after he gains some more Premier League experience. Vision "He is quick, very clever, he can see the game before everyone and can create great assists," Anelka told L'Equipe. "When he gets a little more experience, he will be amazing." Meanwhile, France Under 19 coach Francis Smerecki has compared Kakuta to Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho, but ruled out a surprise call-up to the nation's senior squad for the foreseeable future. "We called him up to the to the Under 19 side when he was suspended, because we wanted to show we were there to support him," Smerecki said. "Like Ronaldinho, he can be a match-winner, but he is more of a team player." He added: "The French team? We must not go too fast. He will join the Under 21s along with three or four players next year. "He will play for the French team one day, that is for sure."
