You'd never have to worry about Sturridge losing confidence or hunger to prove himself where Torres will put his head down after missing a couple chances. At times it seems as if he's scared to be in front of goal.

You make a good point. He doesn't seem the type to be the captain but he is a mentally tough player despite his size. His never say die attitude is inspiring and he leads by example rather than being the vocal leader. It also doesn't hurt when you know he won't have off the field issues and has developed a good relationship with the fanbase.

If we play like we did today or vs. Arsenal I have no doubts we can beat united convincingly. Their defence is weak at the moment and I can't wait to see what we can do against them.

Not to say we can't do it without them but our backline looked atrocious at times without JT and was completely disorganized, especially at the start of the second half.
