  3. John Terry's a jerk! Ex-Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin hits out at Chelsea skipper AND his former team-mate Jamie Carragher Wayne Bridge is not the only footballer carrying a grudge against John Terry. Andriy Voronin has branded the Chelsea captain a 'jerk' for a clash 13 months ago that still gives the Ukrainian nightmares. Voronin went under the knife this week to correct a nose injury suffered when Terry's flailing arm smashed into his face during England's 2-1 win against Ukraine at Wembley last year. Although the incident was painful but with little trace of malice, Voronin believes he was intentionally struck and warned England's World Cup opponents to watch out. 'Terry couldn't clear the ball cleanly, so hit me in the face,' he said. 'Jerk!' 'In my opinion, he did it deliberately. Terry is capable of wickedness. As are Jamie Carragher and Rio Ferdinand. They are the masters.' Voronin quit Liverpool for a £1.8million move to Dynamo Moscow in January and admits he is not missing the physical side of the English game. 'In England it's carnage,' he said. 'If in a match one of the players doesn't bleed, doesn't smash his head in a collision or lose his leg, the fans feel cheated - the game was a failure. 'It's a crazy pace from the first minute to the final whistle. Complete dedication, tremendous atmosphere in the stadiums, but the tactics of most teams are simple in the extreme: throw the ball 50 yards up the pitch and then mob rush up to the opposition goal to score.' 4. Out of player we see on a regular occasion the only ones i dont have are. Alex, Malouda, Ivan, Mikel and joe cole. So for me this season im either going to get Ivan, Lamps or Flo but i cant decide. Im thinking lamps cos of his great season even though i got 3 with him already on it. Depending and on the away and third im going to get Ivan and malouda/Cole.
  5. love it, getting it tomorrow hopefully!!
  6. You cant take away that Xavi is a good player. I dont think its right to compare him to Lampard for the main fact they play in two completely different leagues. There is no reason why any Chelsea fan would want Xavi over Lamps.
  7. Barcelona have completed the signing of Spanish international striker David Villa for £35 million, Manuel Llorente, the president of his current club Valencia, has confirmed. Villa, 29, has signed a four-year deal at Camp Nou, with an option for a fifth season, after the two clubs agreed a fee. Villa had come close to joining the Spanish champions last summer but eventually decided to stay at Mestalla to help Valencia return to the Champions League. But Llorente admitted Valencia’s dire financial situation – the club are currently so mired in debt they are unable to continue construction work on their new stadium, started last year – had forced him to accept Barcelona’s offer. “We have agreed the sale of David Villa to Barcelona for 40 million euros,” said Llorente. “As you know, last year he could have left but decided to stay to help the team return to the Champions League, something we have achieved brilliantly. “But this is a good price and a necessary sale given the economic situation which the club finds itself in. Our objective is to ensure that Valencia are economically viable. We are obliged to take responsible decisions and one of those is to complete the sale of the player, who agreed with our decision. At no point has he pressured us to allow him to leave the club.” Villa is one of Barcelona’s two principal transfer targets this summer, along with Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, who is thought to have indicated his willingness to return to Camp Nou to his current manager Arsene Wenger yesterday. That Barcelona, who retained the Spanish league title on Sunday evening, have moved quickly to secure Villa suggests that outgoing president Joan Laporta is keen to bequeath at least one signing to his successor. The move has clear ramifications for the futures of both Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is now likely to be allowed to leave Camp Nou after just one season and remains a target for Manchester City, and the Liverpool striker Fernando Torres. Sandro Rosell, one candidate to replace Laporta, had made the signing of Torres a centrepiece of his electoral campaign but may find that manager Pep Guardiola now encourages him to strengthen other areas of the team. Barcelona are also believed to be monitoring the Benfica duo of David Luiz and Angel di Maria, targets for Manchester City and Manchester United respectively. telegraph
