  1. Do you know what. I think these young guys that Villa have got simply haven't got enough respect for people like Lampard and Terry and their 'experience'. Not once have they bothered to bow down in front of them and praise them. They've simply run past them. Fucking youth of today. Thankfully in the second half Benteke will realise that he's a young Belgian striker and he's simply not experienced enough to be playing this well.
  2. Saying I told you so doesn't make me feel any better. Fucking twat. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: That was coming a mile off.
  3. Fuck me Moses is having a mare. Defended him in the past and I think he's a good player, but today he's just not feeling it. Oscar please. And Rami's trying to get JT sent off.
  4. That is a fucking red card for Benteke. You silly fat cunt Mason, if you booked him you saw it.
  5. If Lampard doesn't start tracking back a bit more, Rami is going to get sent off. Once again, we're losing the midfield battle. Lambert seems to be doing what Southampton did.
  6. The cold, hard reality is that all football clubs have a bottom line now. Sorry if that's not the jumpers for goalposts myth people want to live in but you PAY someone for a ticket who is being PAID to do a job so you can see coaches who are PAID to coach players who are PAID to win trophies which come with prize MONEY. Samsung don't get plastered on our shirts because the Galaxy S4 is a good phone. They PAY for that too. The players really aren't the fragile, naive souls you're making them out to be. They know football has a bottom line. In fact I'm sure some of them are delighted that they'll be getting more exposure in foreign markets.
  7. Two things. 1. Arsenal underinvested in their team, and the investments they made weren't good enough. Experience didn't really come into it. 2. We're talking about last season's success as a reason to keep JT around? His experience got him sent off in the second-leg of a semi-final not for a mistimed tackle, not even for a dangerous tackle but for kicking a player. Experience....kicks Sanchez....Experience.....kicks Sanchez. But I'm sure he was sending telepathic messages of encouragement to the team from the tunnel. And despite the photos, he didn't play in the final either. Experience is sometimes overrated.
  8. That's not enough. You need to constantly promote yourself. Some people might say that it could've been scheduled at another time, but I'm not so sure that's true.
  9. It's an exhibition match in the biggest media market in the world. That matters nowadays.
  10. I don't disagree that he's a good pro in most regards but this bullshit about us becoming Arsenal shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what happened at Arsenal. They sold their better players and replaced them with people like Arteta, Podolski and Mertesacker - experienced players yes, but simply not good enough. WE AREN'T DOING THAT. And I'll also remind you that Terry, with all his experience, got sent off in our biggest game last night yet our team stood up together and won. They then went on and won the biggest game in this club's history without him. Times change.
  11. And they get paid for that, but the money has to come from somewhere. The club isn't run on magic beans and happy thoughts.
  12. You mean the friendlies in emerging markets....it's almost like he wants us to make money. smh
  13. A few years ago you wouldn't get a single person arguing differently, but times change. If he isn't capable of the same things on the football pitch then you have to look at things like this, especially when he's coming to the end of his contract.
  14. He's a CB. He'll probably always be a CB. He's also our best CB. He's only playing in midfield because we don't have anyone else to play alongside Rami and provide defensive rigidity (although he looked knackered against Spurs). His presence there is a matter of necessity and the guy has done a pretty good job to his credit. He is nowhere near as bad as some of the people criticising his performances suggest, but he's also not the second coming of Gattuso or Pirlo. He's a leader, a dependable presence being asked to do a slightly different job for his team.
  15. The thing is I honestly don't know how good he is anymore. Maybe he's still the same JT and he'll have Benteke in his pocket today, or maybe he'll get skinned by Gabby. We won a Champions League without him. I don't know if he's as important as he once was. And I doubt anyone in the MLS would pay that much for him, especially with some of his character issues. Earning double what he'd probably get here has got to be a temptation.
  16. He's sad that a friend is retiring. Which part of that do you not understand? Take a step back from the computer screen, wipe your saliva off of it and read it again.
  17. No, anyone with the ability to read or even listen knows what he meant by this. You seem to be the ONLY person confused. Again.
  18. No, that seems to be exactly what he meant. "When Sir Alex called me to give me the honour of knowing from him his decision, I was surprised and sad," the Real Madrid boss said. "At the same time, I was happy to feel his emotion, and pride for such an amazing career. "It will be difficult for me, and I think all managers, to go to Old Trafford and play against Manchester United, without this mythical figure waiting for us.
  19. But we are trying to be more sensible in this regard. Malouda and Benayoun will be gone (as might Lamps) and the players we sign are done with a focus on value. A substitute defender (which is what he has become) on £8 million per year doesn't make much sense. Couldn't we use that £16 million to help buy a new defender who will play the first 70 minutes, and maybe even defend for the last 20 too? Personally I think this story is bullshit, and my first reaction was that Galatasaray surely aren't that stupid. If your reaction was similar, doesn't that tell you where John Terry is at this point in his career?
  20. He's out of contract next summer, he costs £160,000 p/w and he hasn't played much this season. Maybe Jose thinks he can use him again next season but £8 million (plus the same in saved wages) at least requires consideration doesn't it?
  21. Maybe in his early days. I'm starting to think he's massively underrated having read some of the comments on here lately. I don't think there's been an England player in the last decade who works his arse of as much as him. He tracks back more than any striker I can think of. Also, he's accepted reduced roles on at least TWO occasions to make the team better which doesn't suggest to me that he's got a 'horrible' attitude. I can think of one or two players who are considered saints who haven't exactly done the same. By the way, 12 HOURS AND 31 MINUTES. That's how long Robin Van Persie went without a goal at on point this season. Of course Rooney isn't the goal scorer he 'once was' (by that I'm assuming you mean less than 12 months ago) because he's playing in a deeper role where he scores a goal roughly every other game. That ratio is up there with players who are up-front every week. Actually that's almost exactly how many headers he scored when he was playing a more advanced role in 2010. It was an area of his game he actually worked on and dramatically improved (bad attitude?). Look, there are plenty of things to dislike about Rooney and there are legitimate concerns about his fitness which makes me wonder why some people have to focus on his looks or make up stuff about him. There's this whole myth that's grown around him over the last few years that simply doesn't reflect the truth. Calling him overrated is like calling Drogba overrated.
  22. I read somewhere that Roman is a 'businessman'. Maybe he's 'negotiating' rather than simply paying the asking price? Couldn't agree more. It's a different challenge this time around, but there's massive opportunities to build something BIG here over the next decade or so. He could maybe spend 20 years here and beat Fergie's record then go off to manage Portugal. I can't see him doing that anytime soon though simply because I think he'd get bored. International football is interesting for about 2 months every couple of years.
  23. You're right that he's got that will to win and he's a big game player in my opinion. He could have the same impact on the team that Drogba did, and he also contributed to Ronaldo's success at United both in terms of what he did in match situations but also simply by taking a slightly different role where he wasn't the focus of the team. What he has over someone like Falcao is that I think he'll make people like Hazard better.
