  1. @Strike As good as your idea is, I'd like to see at least one more european team joining the tournament. Maybe a match between Europa League champions from those 2 years to decide the 3rd team. If that was to be applied this year we would have: Barcelona, Chelsea, Atl. Madrid (?), Santos, Corinthians, Sao Paulo (?). Now this would be something I would be eagerly awaiting to see.
  2. My dad always said the biggest mentality changes he's gone through were when he was a teenager and then when he made it to the thirties. I've heard some others speak of similar ages of changing so I'm not surprised I didn't see anything major going on with me. edit: I joined university at 17. I got my first job that year aswell. Driving wasn't big deal for me. And maybe it's worth saying I had to support my mom emotionally since her divorce when I was 13. You may say I'm a bit different from most ppl, I guess. @Strike That would be 200% better than the way we have it now.
  3. I don't know, I've always been more mature than people my age. I like to think I didn't have that much to improve as some of my friends had.
  4. I'm 23 but I don't feel like I've changed much since 5 years ago. Just sayin'
  5. Do people really think you guys live in igloos? I had no clue. edit: the hockey part is true, I really do relate Canada and hockey. And maple. Maple syrup. And a lot of foreign people living in the big cities. All in all, I rate Canada very highly.
  6. I get your point, however, I don't think anyone with an IQ higher than 70 thinks Brazil is ONLY samba and football. And if there is, he's a moron, why bother?
  7. But we can't choose the way other's stereotype us. @, I get pissed off when people say shit like: Throw anutha shrimp on da barbie. Struth Crikey We don't talk like that. And when they believe we all surf and live on the beach and ride kangaroos to work. It's not just Brazillians that get annoyed by stereotypes @ Yeah, but that's why I don't get pissed off. I know things are just like that for every country. edit: and there are worse things than football and samba to be remembered of, hahaha. No offence.
  8. Brazilians seem to get offended for people relating us to football and samba. I don't get it. I mean, when people mention Germany - you think about beer. Italy - pizza or that gesture when they get their fingers up and together. French - bread, Paris, those caps which names in english I don't know. Mexico - sombreros, mexican food etc. Swiss - chocolate and watches. Spain - bullfighting. Even though those are the first things that come to my mind, I don't think those countries can be resumed/summarized to that or those are their most important traits. It's just the way they're perceived in other parts of the planet. There's nothing wrong about being remembered by samba or football, if anything, it just shows our excellence in those regards.
  9. True, sadly. I know it wouldn't be fair and I have no idea how it would work out, but maybe if Libertadores, Sudamericana, UCL and Europa League champions and runner-ups went to CWC together it would get WAY more interesting. It would truly feel like a championship.
  10. I do not disagree about the difference level between european and south american football. But what kills CWC for me is its duration. I mean, Corinthians and Chelsea had to play one single game to reach finals, it makes the CWC feel so cheap and boring.
  11. Lucky you. I wish I didn't speak portuguese so I could not read what they wrote there. Actually I'd have to be blind aswell, even if you don't speak portuguese, you can see they said Emerson Sheik > Hazard and Danilo = Juan Mata. 'nuff said.
  12. Sometimes I feel some journalists don't really watch european games. Seriously. I know some would do as you said, to keep the general public enthusiastic about the game, but sometimes I'm not certain - for example - globoesporte.com was broadcasting Chelsea vs. Nord online and the guys kept saying Romeu when Hazard got the ball and commiting other minor mistakes like that, as if they had never watched a Chelsea game before.
  13. But would you find it so hard to believe there could be one or two players who were close to Chelsea level in top portuguese/russian teams?
  14. Brazilian league is stronger than Dutch league, for instance. It's not as bad as you make it sound.
  15. Shameful comparison from globoesporte. This would be somewhat more accurate: Cassio <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Cech Alessandro <<<< Ivanovic Chicao << Cahill Paulo Andre <<<< David Luiz Fabio Santos <<<<<<<< Ashley Cole Ralf < Mikel Paulinho >> Ramires Danilo <<<< Juan Mata Jorge Henrique <<<<< Oscar Sheik <<<<< Hazard Paolo Guerrero < Torres. The only thing they can compare to us is double pivot and striker, and the last is only true because I gave up on believing Torres will regain his form.
  16. Giving up brazilian championship to prepare to CWC is bullshit. I have no clue why would a manager do that, it always end up with the team playing badly. Corinthians is displaying way worse form now than back then when they won Libertadores or Brazilian Champ 2011. The same happened to Santos in the last CWC. I just don't get it.
  17. I'm 22. So what? I'm not bashing anyone. I'm just saying their chances were not equivalent as someone was implying.
  18. No, that's not it. Hazard received the ball in the box and there was no defender on him when he received the ball. It was a much better chance, that's not hard to understand.
  19. Hazard had a much clearer opportunity.
