  1. Good luck to Deco, a great player, just a shame he didnt reproduce the form he showed for Porto and Barcelona, but great he is going to give something back. Hopefully he maybe can give us a heads up on any young starlets which he may hear of in Brazil. :eyebrows:
  2. Although we havent finished the job of yet this season I am already looking forward to next season after hearing this from Carlo. I am looking forward to seeing of the youngsters come through next season, BUT we must not expect miracles from them straight away. I think we must prepare ourselves for the possibility of not having the same success as we have had in recent years (mainly since Wenger has been lowering the average age of the arsenal team). There is no doubting Kakuta, Stochs, Bruma's and the likes talent but that is not to say that we are going to win the league or champions league straight away. Blooding them in gradually is going to be the best way, putting them in the team with seasoned pros such as Frank, JT, Ash, DD, and the likes will help there development. I just hope that our expectations after this season will not put extra pressure on these young players and make it show on the pitch. They have done well to get where they are and hopefully they will help us to gain more glory in the years to come.
  3. I think this is most probably the team we will play, although I think Ballack will do a better job than Mikel. Mikel always seems to give away sloppy freekicks, something we dont need at this point of the season with what is at stake. I think your right though if we can show the tempo we demonstrated against Stoke then we will do well, but this is Liverpool and is a totally different story at Anfield than it is at the Bridge. 4. The nerves are really starting to kick in!!! Sunday's result gave me some confidence about going on to win the league but the more I think about it the more nervous I am getting. I hope that everyone is up for this game, and that we can keep our heads, especially JT as he looks a bit out of it at the moment. Hopefully come Monday we will all be smiling but I for one know that I will be watching the game from behind the sofa as if I were watching a scary movie as a kid. Come on Chels!!!
  5. Guys I cant help but be a little nervous about this one. Pompey are going to be really up for this, as it is really there last stand as a top flight club (I know they are already relegated). Yes on paper we should really trounce them, and I think we will beat them but I dont think it is going to be an eas walk over as some may think. Pompey are going to have a great support at Wembley and are going to have 90% of other football fans behind them too, we just need to make sure our support matches pompeys on the day as it will (excuse the cliche) be like a 12th man. I have great admiration for the way the Pompey players played in the semi against the spuds, and maybe we should have taken note from that game for our game on the weekend. Anyway lets hope after the final we are celebrating a Chelsea double. Benji
  6. Guys I really dont know what to say?? I love JT I always have, but the whole bridge-gate affair (in more ways than one) I think has affected Terry, he is not the player he was in the championship winning seasons. But there is no player in the world that can perform season after season like that. I do believe that no player is bigger than the club and JT seems to think he is. I think we need to retain him, he has been a great servant to the club, but shouldnt the team be choosen on performance? which is exactly the same argument which happens with the England team. I know I may sound like I am contradicting myself in this post but it is just cause I dont know what to think about JT, the only thing I wish more than anything is for JT to show the toughness, the grit, and the responisbility of a true leader which we know he can be. Lets hope that the suspension is a blessing in disguise and that it will give him time to reflect about his performance, especially for England this summer!!! Benji
  7. I love these shirts, the home shirt would be one of the best kits I have seen. Good one Steve
  8. I really hope the likes of Van Aanholt, Bruma, Stoch and the other youngsters get a chance next season. I think it is great that we are seeing these young lads coming through and pushing our established first team players for there starting places, I think the young blood coming through along with 1 or 2 signings in the summer will help us improve next season.
  9. Sorry Tech me being silly there and not seeing that. Hope you enjoyed the win tonight!!!
  10. Tech, although I share your frustration, I dont think selling all our players (including the players you have named on your "Fav Players" list) and removing everyone from the club is the answer. Lets try and be a bit more positive and support the lads tonight and try and get a good result, keep these results until the end of the season and then reasses what we need to do to be both a title contender but also a force in Europe. By the way please view the link I have added here, as I hope to think that if our club was in the same situation that our players would do the same, take my hat off to the pompey players. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8584412.stm Benji
  11. I agree they are not a problem currently but I also agree that DD and Nico are both the wrong side of 30. I would love to see Torres but he is a totally different player to Drogba. I think we have a decent looking Stiker in Sturridge, but I think we need to bring some more quality up top along with some flair and pace in midfiled and on the wings. But we need players who will suit Chelsea, not players who just have the big name. I personally would like to see us buy at least one British players, Ashley Young would be a great buy for the wing, but how about Graham Dorrans from WBA, this player looks class, and if we were to get rid of some of our deadwood in the centre of the park then he would be a great signing, he certainly wont be costing us tens of millions and would be a player who could remain with us for years to come. Benji
  12. I actually like this side, but where is Frank? I just cant see us not having Frank in out side I know he is the wrong side of 30 but still is one player we can rely on.
  13. I do wish we were getting Torres but I really can not see it happening. I think it could be a bit of ploy by Liverpool officials who are against the current owners maybe, get some stories out there suggesting Torres could be coming to one of Liverpools fierces rivals, which of cause would drum up more negativity towards the current Liverpool regime, and more support for them to leave due to public support. Hopefully I will be proved wrong and Torres becomes our new number 9 and goes on and helps us to glory next season and beyond. Benji
  14. The following players are the ones I would like to remove from our squad and the ones I would like us to sign. Out Ricky - I think age and injuries are slowly catching up with him, not quite the defender he use to be, still been a great servent to the club and a great player. Mikel - Is it me or does he not know how to tackle or pass, he gives away the ball just as many times in 90 minutes as he does mis-timing tackles, he will never be in the class of Makalele at playing the holding role, saying that he does play in more advanced attacking role for his country so maybe we are playing him out of position?? J.Cole - As much as I hate to say this he is not the player he once was, and if he really wanted to stay at Chelsea I think he would be in the tabloids more saying that he wants a new contract, as of yet I have not seen or heard anything like this from him. Ballack - In his day a great player but is now getting found out and being played of the park by younger quicker players, but you cant blame him because of his age. Bosingwa - I know people may disagree with me on this but if Bayern were rumoured to be offering 15-18million then I would take it, yes great going forward but defending is a bit questionable, besides Ivanovic has proved to be a great replacement, which allows someone from our youth/reserves to step up, which could save us some money. Kalou, Malouda, Anelka are all questionable players to sell, not sure if anyone is in agreement but I think Kalou has looked really bright in the last 3-4 weeks, Malouda, well has had a good season but still think there are better younger players out there, Anelka has gone missing, maybe because we are playing him out of position. In All the youth/reserve players mentioned in other posts should all be given a chance, especially Bruma, Stoch and Cork. I would like to see a world class winger, Di Maria would be a good signing, also like the look of Krasic from (I think) CSKA (maybe wrong there). I would like to see a long term replacement for Drogba, this Lakuku lad has been mentioned a lot but I have not seen any of him to comment, I do like Kenwyne Jones, if he can score a fe wmore goals he would be a great signing (remember even Drogba didnt have the best of goal scoring records when he first joined). I know this would be a long shot as I doubt he would come back but Scott Parker, he has been awesome for West Ham, and didnt get the chance he deserved at Chelsea, also Lee Cattermole again bit like Parker tough physical central mids. Any way thats all I can think of really, please comment as you see fit as I know everyone has there own opinions, and if we could all be managers of Chelsea then I think we may have best squad in the world, but we arent and at the end of the day its only the manager who should decide on who to buy, so they can fit in there system, we as fans just have to support the manager and our players. Benji
  15. My first post in a long time so my apologies for that. I feel we have a big problem at the Bridge, I am not going to single out players because in my opinion it is everyone from the players to the coaching staff. It absolute kills me to see Arsenal playing with so much belief and passion (even more so cause my whole family are Arsenal), where is our belief and our passion, I think both of them left the club when Jose left. Now I am not going to knock Carlo's CV, as he has won it all with Milan, but I think what we miss is the man management of our players, with Jose we had a leader someone who installed the belief in the players who would always give the players on the pitch confidence. I am not going to jump on the "Bring back Mourinho" parade as realistically I dont think he would ever think about coming back but we need someone who can install the belief, the passion and the confidence back into our players. We need someone with in the club who will not stand for the crap which is being displayed on the pitch and off. I think we need some new blood at Chelsea, players who want to play for blue shirt, who will show passion for playing for Chelsea, as I cant see anyone doing that right now. I dont want to name a lis tof player we should get rid off and who to replace them with cause we could be here for years discussing but I think we need to re-assess in the summer and remove the dead wood and keep the players who want to be with the club who want to fight until the bitter end of the season who wants to win everything for the club. Again it hurts me to see us playing with no passion and confidence, it will kill me even more if the Arsenal went on to win the league so if Chelsea cant do it can someone please please do something to stop Arsenal winning it, even if it meant United win the league. Any way my rant is coming to an end, hopefully we can turn the remaining games around and put in a good run, but we need to show the passion on the pitch to want it, once we have that it will radiate into the crowd and it will let the fans voices be heard which can act as a 12th man on the pitch. Benji
  16. I hope he stays he is the heart of Chelsea and although I think Riccy is a better player, there is no one in the whole club who can lift Chelsea the way he does. We all know of his injuries which is why £40M could be classed as a decent sum of money for Chelsea, but for what he determination and the will to win for Chelsea and there supporters, well money can not buy that. I do believe though that either we look for the next Terry now with his help so he can coach them or he coaches Mancienne who I am still not sure about. Either way Chelsea need to start thinking of the future and need to look for new Terry's and Lampard's of this world whether they come from our youth setup or from another club. It would be nice to see someone like Cork or Mancienne come through and do what JT has done and succeed him.
  17. I personally think Young would be a fantastic player for Chelsea and exactly what we are looking for. Only problem would be that if this was to happen I fear that we would loose Joe Cole which would be a loss for Chelsea, especially if he were to go to one of our main rivals such as Liverpool or the Spuds.
  18. Hi Guys and Gals, long time reader, first time poster!!! After this afternoons new I jus thad to send a post. Personally I can see Rijkaard being appointed although I would love to see Zola and Clarke back. Not sure if there are many managers out there who can take Chelsea to the next level. Moyes has done great at Everton and some one who demands respect from the changing room, he would be interesting, and wouldn't take any cr4p from the big ego's in our dressing room. I would like to see whoeve takes charge that it would be part of a bigger plan and that they are given time, lets write of this season, get to the summer get rid of the dead wood and sign players who want to play for Chelsea rather than players who are here for the money. I would rather see a player like Bullard who will run and run for the club than Deco or Ballack who loose the ball and do nothing to get it back.
