Everytime I read this thread, I think: It must be nice to have double morals when talking about player qualities and performances. Hazard: doesn't perform, Mata:Not good enough for Mou, KDB: overhyped to the max, Lukaku: can't even start because he's a virgin .... Oscar will fix everything. Lol.

For the majority of fans, a player is only as good as their last game unfortunately. Just have a look how opinions changed about KDB after 2 quiet performances, while in pre-season he was our new RW for sure! Mata looked subpar vs Villa ---> half the board starts contemplating weither a Rooney swap deal would make sense. The same would apply to Lukaku probably. Pubescent girls do that

Lol. Thats such a small difference when seeing the total numbers. 35/15 versus 36/8 in absolutes. The former being much younger, having better numbers. Also Torres scoring almost no winners. That doesn't impress me. The % sounds awesome, but means little. Those numbers actually mean Lukaku did better. I hope you realize that, becuase you just proved it with your line of reasoning ....

Ow but I much agree on that! Very, very much. Still, for his age (on disregading his age as well) Lukaku had a great year (he had those at Anderlecht as well - this boy ran the line for Anderlecht with 'brille' since he is 16) like a boss may I add ! ). I am no fanboy - he is too raw for me still. And maybe/certainly for a no 1 at Chelsea! Concluding: Torres is not good enough and never will be. Lukaku is still unproven in a Chelsea type club, very much ! But he has the numbers to make us believe he has a shot at being good enough. Question is whether if we put the boy on, and will he take the chance? If we never PUT him on .... We will never know will we ..
