He appears to be one of those sensible strikers who are affected by their environment a lot. I’d rather have beast like Diego Costa who just does not give a damn not a nice guy who has to be pampered like timo, Kai or Torres again.

I am completely fine with his level pragmatism. we are hardly operating Pulis style hoofing the ball around. We play out a cultivated football from the back and generally have most of posession. Ppl are getting a bit over the top of it. We should not be expecting every team with half decent player to play like prime barcelon in modern football. Because we suck at converting our chances we score few goals and that is why ppl tend to say we are pragmatic when indeed we carve teams like City, Real and Atletico open at will. It is not really that important what system we play and which players he picks.What matters is how we operate. In general we do start a lot of attacks, our wing backs push up high and we generally attack in numbers, not like psg or real who only attack with 3 players. Most of our offensive players are just very limited and still not work very well together in a team. It is not only pragmatism that is our problem but lack of creativity in the final 3rd, bad decision making, lack of team movement and in the end lack of quality.

On the other hand when he does score it does not make him fly high and he suddenly catches every ball perfectly. For almost every time he scores he usually directly proceeds to waste a big chance in the same or the following match and then goes on a scoreless run. As has been pointed out here he varies between terrible and average. His pace and movement indeed stretches teams and makes defenders nervous which is why I understand that he sometimes plays ahead of Ziyech who when out of form simply sucks and offers 0. Simlar for Havertz and Tammy. I do not think the audience has that much of an influence on games tbf, but I reckon Werner will be given one more season to turn his Chelsea career around. Let's hope he can but we should not bet our season on it. Still need to sign a proper striker.

Not really. When you are 5m in front of a 7m goal to aim at only 2 of which are covered by a keeper then it takes some serious self-sabotage to miss the empty space.

I don’t care. When we fail to win it is usually bc we fail to take our chances not bc of rotation. I think Brighton we failed to break their midfield with Mount and j5 horror combination and Havertz and Ziyech has absolute stinkers. Could have easily scored. Westbrom simply came too early with all the players back from int duty. We missed the intensity.

We should rotate heavily here. Even with 11 changes we should be able to beat dullham

They looked nothing but phlegmatic sad shadows. Modric, Kroos, marcelo, nacho just old, slow and toothless. Their individual class in benze, Casemiro and snake and some dirty tricks saved them big time. They really could not cope with our energy but I guess our gas ran out in the rain. If we manage to put them through 90mins of what we showed in the first 25 we will win even if we miss 20 chances.
