    1000% agree with this. The effects it could have on the players is by far the most important thing. And we as fans should ensure we don't have a negative effect on the players...

    No where did i tell you that you had to respect him... And there is always a shit storm around us, and there is nothing we can do about it as that is the way the media has always been around us. I doubt anyone will be up there (me included) cheering for benitez, but i will fully support the team no matter what.

    Yeah i agree, however if you have a fuck off benitez chant for 5 mins in the middle of the game then it starts to become related, as we have to get behind the team during the game, and not be against our manager.

    This is gonna be one of the most anticiapated lineups of the season. All this can't be good for the team so avoiding defeat would be great here. You never know Torres Hatrick...

    I have no interst in changing your mind... I do not like benitez as well, but the fact of the matter is that he is our new chelsea manager, and nothing we do is gonna change that. He has shown disrespect for us as fans in the past with some of his comments and he is never gonna get a 10th of the respect that RDM has. However there is no good that can come from our team except unsettling it more from every chelsea fan showing its hatred towards its manager... It won't help anything, especailly with a new team that we are trying to build.

    He has only been our manager officially for about 15 hours, he needs time to earn our respect, if you don't give him any time then there is no way he will earn your respect.

    If he can make our defence a bit more solid and identify our best defence quickly hen his experience could prove to be very useful, especially since we have conceded like 23 goals in our last 11 games.

    Come on people... Wanting to Set up an AFC Chelsea team is a bit extreme. Abramovic cares most about wiinning and that becomes a point to his benefit and to his disadvantage. Rafa was offered the job and he has taken it. We all know by now that roman wants the club to succeed and Rafa will do his best for the club that pays him. He won't "love the club" like RDM does/did, but the decision has been made, and boycotting games and other such measures won't solve anything, especially at a time when the team needs support and things arn't all rosy.

    Well you would have thought they would have had someone lined up before hand otherwise sacking our manager just as we are starting a long stretch of games like 12 or something before january would be extremely stupid.

    They are totally different teams though tbf. I. E. Every Chelsea team for the last 8 years has been better than the teams he has managed so it is unfair to look purely on win percentage.

    After having 12 hours or so to reflect on things the main thing that annoys me is the treatment to Rdm who has been so good to us. Benitez is no one's favourite of course and certainly not mine, but he will do his best for this club and that is all we can ask. He may have said this that and the other, but it was a while ago and he was the manager of a rival club. Time to move on. Also it's not like he is here on a 5 year deal. Roman wants pep, but he has said he won't come back to management til next year... Chill people... Thanks to Rdm for what he has achieved with this club. Now rafa let's go beat city.

    Yeah, but lets be honest here i bet you 75% of people didn't like torres when he played for liverpool (he kept scoring agianst us), then got behind him as he played for us and now are back around to starting to not like him for not performing... I was just trying to prove the point that things change, and especailly in football this kind of thing happens all the time.

    Yeah of course, i don't particularly like him for his managerial history, liverpool and zonal marking etc, but he is our manager now and in todays day and age players and managers move alot, and there comes a point where you have to put it behind you. We can critisise him if he takes us in a direction we do not like, but lets firstly give him a little bit of time. And secondly look at what he does here and not what he did several years ago with different players at a completely different club.

    If we suddenly beat city, how things will change on here though lol. And if we lose to city i expect to see at least 3 threads about how it is all rafa's fault....

    Yeah but we would probably see a lot of him anyway with the shortage of strikers we have... You never know this could be when torres regains his best form...

    Lets be honest though our managers arnt exactly in full control over signings and Roman will want us to get a new striker, its not like rafa will say i want to keep torres and have no one else, and roman will be like, "thats all cool dude".

    I have been a chelsea fan since i can remember and will remain to be a chelsea fan forever, one questionable manager choice won't change that. There is nothing any of us can do about it except stopping supporting the club we love which is pretty stupid imo as then what is the whole point. He has taken the job. No good can come of us trying to get him out quick has possible. He has been given a very short term deal (interim manager), so clearly roman isn't thinking he is the man long term. Many of us including me are not best pleased with the choice and circumstances HOWEVER, it has happenned, and i hope he is one of the best managers we have had and we win every game. :cfc: :cfc:

    Now 8/1 ON it is gonna happen, oh well, he isnt that bad of a manager and has the CV... Still not too best pleased but hey ho, shit happens.
