I think everyone who couldn't wait just wanted him to sign so he can play against Utd. I feel Stoke in the cup is more likely.
-
The problem is not the youth coaches or our development, everything stems from not having stability in the management position. We've been chopping and changing way too much to fully utilize the academy. New managers aren't going to give youth a chance to get in when they are under pressure to win right away. Now that we have some stability there I believe we will see more of our academy players start to come through.
-
I guess its possible but I've not yet seen Jose use Oscar in 4-3-3. Logic says he can probably play there though
-
This is excellent! We now have three players in the prime of their careers in our midfield! (Mikel, Ramires and now Matic) This is precisely what we needed. I've been saying forever now that Chelsea's biggest problem is not having the right combination of holding mids. With Matic and Ramires that has definitely been answered. We have more than enough attacking prowess, we needed more ball winners and solidity in the back. Matic makes our midfield EXTREMELY formidable. Matic - Ramires Willian - Oscar - Hazard Matic - Mikel - Ramires Schurrle - Hazard I can go on and on with combinations... Fantastic bit of business once again!
-
We had a different director at the time. New policy too.
-
Looks that way

Zenit bought Witsel for £40m why would they sell for less?
-
Is witsel up for sale? Do Zenit need money? If we are willing to spend that kind of money I prefer Pogba... Its these types of comments that make me wonder if people actually think FM14 is real.
-
What are you on about? Did you completely miss the part where I said Stop looking at other teams and wondering why were aren't as dominant as they are. We are Chelsea??? I don't give a shit how other teams are constructed, I care about how Chelsea is built! Its hilarious that everyone keeps relating team success to DLP's. Team success is built on philosophy and hard work! We are building our identity now and if that doesn't include a DLP so be it! Jose knows what he's doing and there's more than one way to skin a cat.
-
Actually it does! there are some very good players coming out of Sagres these days... But I'll leave you on your perch. Has it every occurred to you that the targets we have for strikers aren't available until the summer? Anyway, like I said its more than likely unfounded don't get your panties in a bunch. Your second entry is ridiculous. Every team is built differently and have different attributes... Stop looking at other teams and wondering why were aren't as dominant as they are. We are Chelsea not Bayern or Barca(both of whom we've had tremendous success against)
-
I'm not worried about it. I mean he was player of the year in Liga Sagres last year, he's not gonna go for peanuts... Also if the board deem we can afford it what's the harm? Having said that I doubt its true.
-
I don't know what Paul Pogba you're referring to but the one I'm talking about plays for Juventus and has incredible ability on the ball. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HddeDF61uc
-
You have your opinion, I have mine.
-
Preaching to the choir brother. I believe that gets settled in the summer.
-
I want Matic for the same reason I wanted Pogba. Granted Paul is nicer on the ball but Matic provides us with pace, power and solid workrate. He runs all game and has excellent awareness... This will DEF make us a more formidable side.

I read that stuff the debate moved as most do. Can you name me one available "Regista"? I don't think we need a DLP, I think we have enough with our attackers to win a lot of big games. What we are lacking, IMHO, is a guy who can provide us with solidity in the midfield and also move the ball to our creative players. I've been saying this forever... And if we get Matic that will go a long way to addressing that. Pressing with Ramires and Matic will provide us with more recovered balls and will also free up Lamps or Ramires to get forward to create overloads. If we can do that effectively the DLP role is less a need.
-
The question you need to ask yourself is will Matic improve the club? This ridiculous obsession with FM14 and rigista's/DLP is nauseating teams don't sell players like that and if they do its for a hefty fee. Those types of moves are pulled off in the summer if they are at all. Matic is a very good player who will provide us with solidity in the midfield and allow us to break up play and get into attacking areas quickly.

Ended up being a pretty routine, workmanlike performance from the Blues! Early away fixtures have been a bit of an achilles heel recently but from the looks of it Jose had the team well drilled on what to expect and in the end we won it comfortably. Lets just get this out of the way, Eden Hazard is looking a cut above everyone in the league at his position. Its not even close really, He's looking like he will be a perennial Ballon D'or candidate, only a matter of time. Luiz in the midfield is starting to look like a masterstroke from Jose. His range of passing is unbelievable and I just love it when he hits it first time into space for our attackers to run on to... That will come off real soon its inches not yards. The back 4 were never threatened. Terry got off to a bad start but the rest never played a foot wrong. Gonna be interesting to see what happens when Brana is back, Cole and Azpilicueta have been sound. People can complain all they want about Torres... The objective of the striker is to score, he did that so job done. It was a very important goal too. We are looking the business brothers and sisters! Rock solid in the back and lethal in attack! I'll be at Stamford Bridge for Utd next week and I can't think of a better game for a first Chelsea game! CAN'T WAIT!!! Up the Chels!
-
Jose's had a week to drill the boys on just that. I feel he's adept at getting his message across... 1-0 or 2-1
-
Pretty much every game we play until we're top of the table and have a gap is a must win. Agree with the lineup.
-
You have no idea what you're talking about, no surprise its clear you're still learning the game. I'll leave it at that... the finer points of the game are clearly well over you're head
-
These two comments not only expose how little you actually saw of the match but also how little you know about breaking down a team who play with an EXTREMELY low block... 10 men in the box. I've watched the game twice you be happy to know, since you're a Chelsea fan and not some silly fanboy that Eto'o actually gave a the ball ONCE in 65mins on the pitch. So where did you get this "he couldn't hold the ball" bit? The chance he had on goal was simply a case of him not settling the ball. his touch let him down not his pace. Eto'o was marked by three people all match he played more false 9 than actual 9. When teams defend as deep as Derby did there is little that can be done to break them down. No CF would be able to find space to exploit, as a result we were left with shooting from distance. There were a few instances in the second half that would show you how Eto'o was used as a false 9. There were a few counters where he was found out in wide positions and still had the attention of two defenders. He also played some decent first time balls to Oscar and Willian only to have them play wayward balls that got intercepted. As soon as Hazard came in we had natural width and were able to get the necessary space for our attacks to exploit... football 101. I will always say a striker needs to score in order to fulfill his duties, he didn't so at best he was average but all your comments are cliche/"I heard Ian Darke say this so" which show you're still learning the game.
-
Listen son, I'd like to carry on this battle of wits but apparently you're unarmed... Anyway thought Eto'o had an average game starved for service and not clinical when it arrived. Hazard came on and we had more space for everyone. good team win,
-
Only thing that's pathetic around here is you. you're posts are so hard to ignore when they take up half the page... I mainly read it for my own personal enjoyment, reading the musings of a moron is one of my fave past times. Eto'o is far from my fave player(I don't have one its about the badge) just sick of fanboys talking foolishness. You will hear from me often
-
Nobody is asking for your opinion, its you that keeps offering it like anyone cares.
