  1. I don't know why people are so adamant in the stance that Chelsea chose Drogba over Lukaku? Lukaku has 2yrs left on his deal and long before anyone even mentioned Drogba was hinting to leaving the club. If he doesn't sign an extension this summer he's forced our hand, we can't go into the last year of a deal without having an extension signed. Having said that Jose and the board aren't idiots if Lukaku goes out someone will almost assuredly come in, it may not be in this window but no doubt at some point. What's the rush?
  2. Window isn't shut yet. Also this deal is far from being consummated.
  3. Love Oscar but he's not a dominant force in the middle. The closest we have to what I'm speaking of is Matic but Pogba is just more dynamic.
  4. Not exactly what I mean. Speaking more in terms of the spine of the team and how important the midfield is to building a foundation. The one example I can use to explain what I mean is City and Yaya... That team is built around his dominating presence in the midfield.
  5. If he doesn't want to sign an extension then it makes perfect sense to sell. I'm just hoping its for more than £19m didn't we buy him for 18m?
  6. Oh it does! He's a fantastic player, the type you can build a foundation around, we don't have a player like that at the club.
  7. Not entirely up to Chelsea at this point. He hasn't signed an extension if that continues this is the last window where we can truly capitalize on a sale.
  8. We will see! I'm not letting go till the window shuts or Juve re-sign. Still have a bit of a ways to go before that!
  9. Depends. If Lukaku is sold and Drogba was brought in as a replacement I wouldn't be over the moon. If Lukaku is sold and Drogba was brought in as a replacement and the club reinvest the money from the sale into buying Pogba then I will have NO problem. While I'd rather Lukaku than Torres as a fall back plan, we can address the secondary striker position another time. There are no guarantees Lukaku will ever fit the bill as our 1st choice striker so selling him now and getting Pogba as a result would be excellent.
  10. I'd say the one where we need an injection of energy up front in a 2-1 game? Or perhaps a game where we are up 2,3 goals and need to get him some time? He's best as a change of pace if you ask me, also as a late game finisher. Stop looking at competitions! Its about form and situations! There will be times where he will be called upon and its up to him to make the most of the opportunities
  11. He'll be fine in a limited role. Even if he only makes a handful of appearances his presence in the locker room and as a figurehead at the club is immense. We need more leaders within the squad, a few months ago people were struggling to find the name of the next chelsea captain, well, this may help in the character department. Sometimes you need good examples to follow before you emerge a leader.
  12. Marin was signed before we won the Cup, he was our fall back plan should we not be able to attract big names. Moses made no sense though...
  13. Only because in 2012 we addressed a fair few more! Lacked creativity.
  14. Its horses for courses dude. No one is guaranteed to start any game regardless of the competition. There are situations that will favour Torres, same for Lukaku and other that will favour Drogba. Its not about 1st choice/2nd choice and never was really.
  15. I must be one of the few Chelsea supporters left who still likes Ramires.
  16. Well of course! But that would have to be a 'knock your socks off' offer and I don't see it happening. Every player has a sell point...
  17. It would be more likely if Vidal himself wanted to go but with him vehemently denying he's tempted to go and with Juve having their own ambitions as a club it seems less likely that he will leave. That should open the door for Pogba though!
  18. Feeling like this thing has died down enough to be likely now. No talk of an extension with Juve, Nedved and Marotta are making it very clear they have no intention of selling Vidal. Seems like Pogba is less of a certainty there seeing as there isn't even whispers of an extension... Maybe Lukaku is on the outs and Pogba coming in?
  19. Maybe for you... Not for me. And besides what's wrong with projecting what type of player a near 18yr old could potentially be? Are we to wait until he's 27 to make a prediction? Nobody's putting any unjust expectations on him, he looks a fantastic prospect whether he reaches his potential is completely up to him.
  20. I was waiting for this response. LOL as if I don't know that, we're speaking of his movement on the pitch not the type of player he is going to be.
  21. The best way at looking at homegrown status is like this. You can only have 17 foreigners on your roster, the rest have to be homegrown. So technically we can have a squad of just 17 foreign based players and no homegrown players. 8 roster spots are reserved for homegrown you don't have to use them all. I really like Van Ginkel but with Romeu just signing an extension and Mikel being a vet I still feel he's at risk. I agree though, if I had my choice he'd be ahead of both of them. There's only room for one more anchor type CM's with Matic here.
  22. I don't know what his status is for the season he'll be 22 in december and i'm not sure how it works to be honest.
