  1. The thing is Lampard and Drogba have a history of incredible Champions League performances. Both scored iconic goals vs Bayern and Barca and numerous other big game. This could be the year for Eden. Courtois, Hazard, Morata will be itching to prove a point in the CL. Kante (and Christensen too) has never played in the competition in these stages. In spite of the team's struggles lately, I fancy them to turn up next week. I hope the atmosphere next week is like vs Napoli in 2012 or the Liverpool games in the 00's
  2. Bad selection yesterday. Cahill was poor and Bakayoko had a horror game. Even before the red card, he gave the ball away in 3-4 occasichalons under little pressure. And everybody and their milkman knew Hazard as false nine was not going to work. Why didn't Giroud just start? I don't think Conte will be sacked now but at the end of this month with Barcelona around the corner, he looks doomed. Such a shame this, really. At the start of the season, I felt there was potential to kick on from the title win, add quality players to the squad and take the pressure off Hazard to create attacks.
  3. Actually, even after the red, Watford didn't really create any chance other than the penalty that lead to a goal.
  4. Surprised at the lack of outrage against Kane. Posterboy, good reputation England captain dives to win a penalty and there is silence
  5. All doom and gloom on here. Surely we're going to go unbeaten this month and beat Barca United and City along the way
  6. and to think the potential the club had at the start of the season with Fabregas - Kante - Matic and RLC in midfield. They've gone and spent a combined 90 million on Drinkwater, Barkley and Bakayoko and we are no better in quality.
  7. Scenes when Giroud comes on and scores against Barcelona
  8. I like Giroud. He is more than just a big man. He can control a ball in tight spaces, bounce it off to Hazard/Willian. Morata/Giroud/Tammy Abraham next season? I'm down.
  9. Someone with the profile of Tolisso. Think we should still sign a creative midfielder in the summer. Pjanic?
  10. Losing a game is not the issue but after a decent performance in the first half, the team completely caved in the second. At no point did they look like they are playing for a Wembley final and that infuriates me.
  11. they are exceptional cases. Malouda, Ivanovic, Bosingwa, even Cole, plenty of players at the club regressed dramatically around their early 30s With that said, I think Dzeko is the best fit for the club for the type of striker the club is looking for. Gives Conte an option to change the game. May even add him on top of Morata if the team is trailing
  12. After Roma game, the Luiz in midfield experiment is over
  13. Dzeko is not better than Morata. For all of Morata's faults this season, he is comfortably the better striker of the two. He works tirelessly, is better on the ball and is on par with Dzeko in the air, Dzeko has the edge in hold-up play and finishing and is a fantastic option to bring on to change games but first choice? No, it's a wrong move.
  14. He's looking for the target man mould for the second striker role. Dzeko, Llorente, Carroll. Of the three, I prefer Llorente but he seems happy to warm the Spurs bench instead
  15. Sorry. Thought he was below average. Could not carry the ball past the midfield area and if this is what we expect from him now then might as well ship him in January itself
  16. I think he is being honest. Says a lot about who takes transfer decisions, if we didn't know it already
  17. Alexis Sanchez, trying to sign him? I don’t know, I don’t think so. - Conte at presser today
  18. Lot of questions to the board if he joins Arsenal, Sanchez joins United and Chelsea don't sign an attacker.
  19. People saying Man City have been exposed, they did make a spirited comeback to make the final score 4-3. It is an admirable trait about this City team that even when they are not having a good game, they've managed to keep their heads till the final whistle and play with composure in attack. Bailed them out many times. They arent even like United years ago when they would put the opposition under a lot of pressure late on in games by crossing the ball into the box or hoofing it. The goals they've scored late have been patiently built and coolly finished under pressure like the Bernardo Silva goal today.
